So what happens when you get aroused/erect? Is it painful???

For me, no. Maybe some discomfort with an attempted erection but not painful. Not sure I would be able to hide something like the CB Curve in my jeans. My JB is very discrete under my clothes and since I'm locked 24/7 that's important. If and when I'm allowed a full erection it's at my wife’s discretion.

My Bird Cage hid fine under clothes actually so that's not the biggest concern for me...I just want it to be comfortable enough that I can give her all the keys and not have to worry about pain at work and such.

How much extra room do you have in terms of length in the cage when flaccid?

Actually, no. MM recommends that once you have established your flaccid measurement, subtract 1/4 in from that measurement for your cage length. That's to allow for the gap between the cage and the base ring. It's not an exact science. I ordered mine the same as my flaccid length and it works fine. Everyone is different. That's why some experience in a cheaper device can be invaluable in helping you determine what to order in a custom one. There is a lot of info here in older posts on measuring for a device. Take the time to go back and read all the old threads. I think they will be quite helpful. Ask a lot of questions and email the manufacturer, as well.

Fully erect I am about 6 inches. My tube is 2 1/4" long and very snug. It is generally not painful to get an erection. Sometimes there is some pulling on the balls that is uncomfortable or even painful but not often. Not sure why but this almost never happens during nocturnal erections but only if I get aroused while playing with my wife. We have a simple solution to that problem

It seems to be the case with many of us that the sooner the erection is "caught" the less discomfort there is. The more it is allowed to start (bigger tube) the more discomfort there is. This is not universal though.

Agreed. In the beginning I experimented with a homemade version of a Houdini. It allowed a forced downward full erection which was not comfortable at all. I believe catching it before it becomes erect is the way to go.

To all of you who have replied, how tight is the base ring of your JB's? Obviously it needs to be tight enough not to fall off but not so much that it hurts right? My BC's ring is somewhat of a struggle to get into most times.

I saw the sizing options for the MM device and I'm just wondering how snug I should make the tape when measuring.

Mine is fairly tight. I would use an even smaller ring if it weren't for those darn nocturnal erections. I think the limiting factor is more how big does it have to be to handle that.

Struggling to get in to it could be technique as much as anything. Once I discovered the best way (for me) to get the ring on I don't have any trouble and could put on a much smaller ring than what I could actually wear.

Same for me. I tried one size smaller than what I am wearing now but was in pain at about 4am and when ever my wife decided to tease me. Couldn't stand it so I went up one size. The good thing about MM is that for me the 1 7/8" was a little big and 1 3/4" was what was giving me pain when aroused so MM made me a ring in between the two.

I highly recommend ordering two base rings. You will find as your body adjusts that you start with the larger and work yourself into the smaller one over time.
