Steelworxx ring size

Post by chas83 »

I have recently received a device from Steelworxx and it is awesome other than the fact that the big ring (the one that goes behind the balls) is just a tad too big. If I was to get a smaller ring from them, do I have to send in the entire device or can I just send them back the big ring by itself and they can make a smaller ring that will fit the rest of the device just like the ring that was just a tad too big did? I am assuming there is bound to be someone here who has purchased a device from them and had to make a return due to the big ring being the wrong size and I was wondering how the return/resizing was handled. Please let me know with a reply, thanks!

I haven't had to have any changes made to my steelworxx but my understanding is that it has to go back.

I emailed the same question to Dietmar and this is his reply:

yes you should send back your device .The new ring has to be adapted on it. Otherwise it can get inaccurate. But please send me an e-mail after my holidays (I`m back on 19.09.2011) about the alterations again. Thank you.

Ok,
Well what I was really asking is if the Entire device has to be sent back, or just the Back ring portion that I want made smaller. Nothing else about the device will change, just the base/back ring needs to be smaller. Which more than likely means a new ring altogether, I just want to know if that's all they will need or the other part of it as well.

Please read my response again. I was looking for the exact same change you are. Basically the "hinge" part, where the tube and ring meet is a custom fit for each device. If you send only the ring, the tube portion may not meet up properly causing either looseness or it may not fit together at all.
