So I'm looking at the Jail Bird pictures from CageChronicles.com that Chastehusband linked to in the Sizing thread and it got me wondering. Since that device is meant to be fitted so closely to the size of the flaccid penis it's containing, it occurs to me that there may be a simple way to increase its security by adding one simple bar. Here's some images I made that demonstrate the idea (where the green line is where the bar would be added).
The biggest issue I've always had with fixing a PA ring to the device has been the variability of the size of the penis in its flaccid state. As it wants to move around, subtle but persistent pressure is put on the piercing that eventually becomes intolerable.
In a well-fitted Jail Bird, though, it looks as though the area of the piercing would remain in a constant relative position to one area of the device (even when erect) making it possible to simply attach the PA ring to a simple bar.
I'm curious what those who wear this device think. Are my fitting assumptions correct?
One other thing, that cage looks pretty big in the picture but it's not. It would probably be difficult to get in it and affix the PA to the bar. I think that would be the challenge. Once everything was in it would probably work great.
Mr. M has commented on another forum, probably chastity mansion as that is where he sponsors that he has tried making a piercing security device but hasn't figured it out yet. I don't know if he is still trying or not.

I've been seriously considering striking up a conversation with MM about engineering a PA version of a jailbird. My shortened CB3k with security cable works great. I have occasional discomfort from the A-ring, but never the piercing. I imagine the Jailbird mod could be done with a cross-bar as Thumper suggests, or perhaps even with a security cable that loops back around to the locking post. If a cross bar was used, some kind of locking mechanism would have to be used. Lori uses a second lock to secure the post that goes into the PA. I suppose a second lock could be used to secure the post that goes through the PA jewelry in this case. I like that better, because that gives a little more forgiveness in terms of movement within the tube.
Regarding Jewelry, I wear a 4ga CBR. There's no WAY that captive bead comes out without a pair of pliers. If the bead is trapped inside the cage, it's as safe as can be. I think I would prefer the security of that, to a ring with a special closure that may gunk/rust shut, or still be accessible by twisting the ring. I'd also be concerned about the seam rotating inside my piercing and causing irritation.

I don't disagree. I was looking at it as a substitute for the master lock. Something a little smaller and streamlined. It just seemed to fit this situation as well. And, it's hot.

That's *exactly* what used to happen to me when I wore a segment ring in my PA. Doesn't seem like much, but that seam between segments can really hurt!
