I debated whether to add this to the other “morning wood” thread or start a new one, but decided on a new because I didn’t want to derail the original which is a good question and discussion on its own.
So about fifteen minutes ago I learned my wife of 37 years had no idea that “morning wood” was a physiological thing. But it also led to a very good short discussion of why I like being locked.
Background: we’ve used intermittent chastity for maybe 10 years now, so she’s very familiar with my cage, and we’ve discussed why I wear it, enjoy it, and my goals and fantasies. All good there. I am down to one device after the usual experimentation; a well fitting but short and snug BAW titanium device. As noted in the other “wood” thread, she had me put it on two mornings ago, and I was kind of dreading/accepting that I’d have a couple of rough nights of sleep. But the first night went fine, and I barely woke up.
Last night and early morning were more like what I expected. The morning wood straining against the cage woke me and I had the familiar night of broken sleep. To be sure I find the situation somewhat enjoyable. I LIKE the feeling of restraint and the psychology of knowing I can’t do anything about it until she lets me out. I just wish for a better night sleep!
Anyway, as I poured my first cup of coffee a bit ago she asked how I slept. And I told her it was a little rough as I expected because of the morning wood problem. She gave me a quizzical look and said “morning wood?”. I was a little surprised, but I suppose in her defense it’s something we males take for granted and women don’t experience, so reasonable we’d never talked about it. I explained it to her, which she found very interesting.
And that also had us discuss the effect the cage has on me, and why I like it, even if I have a rough couple of nights. I explained how I actually like the “bondage-y” feeling of my dick under her control (she knows I love bondage play and we enjoy it together, so she understood the term in context), and how I liked being frustrated that I couldn’t do anything about it. I even told her her that sometimes the (uncaged) morning erection leads me to masturbate while lying next to her as she sleeps, but ultimately that masturbation was not nearly as fulfilling as being inside her, so one benefit of the cage is that I don’t have the option, and I like that. I even joked that I totally “got” that most men would say “wait, you keep your cock locked in cage so you can’t jack off and you like that?” which had her smiling and nodding in understanding.
It turned out to be a rather frank chat that I think actually advanced our shared interest in chastity play. I can certainly be more open in the future regarding morning erection attempts while caged, and I think she now has a much better appreciation that being released for PIV with her really IS a reward for me, which we both want. I also managed to have the conversation in a positive light without stumbling all over my words or saying something stupid (big win there!). I am very pleased that I managed to properly frame why I can want both denial AND sex with her, and she seemed to receive that as intended. Hopefully that control/reward idea germinates a bit for her and grows in interest.

I’m always happy to read about people having these kinds of conversations where respect, sharing of knowledge, and feeling comfortable with sharing their thoughts about their kinks and desires comes to the front.
I do find it strange that your wife has never heard of morning wood, but I also guess that stranger things happen.

@CT_Locked
I totally agree with your morning wood and women understanding analogy. I always thought my wife knew. Then I developed sleep apnea and low testosterone, and didn’t dream or have morning wood for several years. Intimacy really slumped for us, she just thought I had gotten old and lost interest so she accepted it as natural. In the middle of it all she had a complete hysterectomy. Which was just about the icing on the cake.
Enter TRT and a sleep machine and lots of time and we started a rebound of sorts. Next came the chastity experiment over a year ago. The final ingredient was my 2cm stubby nub. I started sleeping more on my stomach in an effort to subconsciously find my penis. Started fighting the apnea mask, ripped it off one night and slept amazingly. I haven’t worn it in about a year. Started dreaming again and waking with morning wood. Hence a similar discussion with my wife like you had.
FWIW in the last month or so I’m finding that I’m having multiple nocturnal erections. They woke me three times the other night. I’m now working to teach myself to relax them without getting up to pee.
Thanks for starting this post. It’s a worthwhile discussion.

More men probably should. They might find themselves a lot happier and fall in love all over again.Some men put their cocks in metal cages for example
Imagine goi g to a marriage counselor and being told you just needed a good lockup.

I can honestly say I’ve never been closer emotionally to my partner than after we locked me up.

Yes absolutely true. But I really think it is more due to the communication that comes out of chastity. At least that seems to be a common thread spoken of here.. I can honestly say I’ve never been closer emotionally to my partner than after we locked me up.
Personally Mrs. G and I talk more about intimacy than we ever have. We seem to understand each other better as a result.
