I haven't yet introduced chastity to my wife - trying to figure out the best way to do it. But, she is out of town for work this week and so I decided I would try several days being locked full-time. I've completed four full days and even though it's a self-locked situation I like the feeling and knowing that I am doing it for my wife (no masturbating while she's gone).
I had purchased a cage off Amazon. I know there are critcisms of those cheap cages but I really like this one (it took ordering four to find the "right" one).
During the daytime the cage is comfortable enough that sometimes I forget it's there. I've worn it to work, the gym, errands... all good and only minor discomfort that I can always fix with a little adjustment and sometimes some vaseline.
BUT, early mornings ARE the worst! Each morning I have been woken up between 4-5am with painful scrotum burn (I think that's what you all call it). It's so bad that I have gotten up each time and taken the cage piece off (leaving the ring on).
Does that ever get better or have you all learned to sleep through it?
I'd love to get my wife to lock me full time (when I get the courage to introduce her to it) but after sleeping in the cage this week, I'm not so sure.
Does Morning Wood *ever* become less painful?

If you’re in plastic the burn I can be bad. Metal is easier to keep lotion on and it slides better. And yes 4:30 am is everyone’s dread.
She says ‘it’s cute’ in the nub.

Everyone is different. For me, it takes 5-7 nights before my body “re-trains” itself to either not get that morning wood or my brain ignores it and I sleep through the night. My cage is titanium and I agree metal slips a bit better on the skin. For the first couple of nights a little moisturizer on the base ring helps.
My wife/KH understands the time frame so when I am locked it’s always for more than a week.

I still get "morning wood", really any and all times of night wood and I have been doing this for 15 years. It rarely bothers me much anymore though, I rather enjoy it most of the time. If I'm really hard and not too tired I take a picture to send to @Michele, since we are long distance most of the time she enjoys seeing my struggle. Taking parts the cage off isn't an option anyway (I don't have access to any keys) so I just deal with it.
The scrotum burn can be minimized two ways. First, and I think most importantly, is to make sure the gap is correct. If it is too small you will get scrotum burn pretty bad and it is hard to do anything about it. Second, rub a little bit of lotion from just below the ring down your perineum before you go to bed. I like Aveeno because it absorbs in nicely and doesn't leave a mess.
I used to have to do this every night but I don't anymore. I occasionally get some burn but usually it's not that bad. If it is I will get up and apply a little lotion.
I would avoid the vaseline or anything that left didn't absorb in. I don't find it necessary and really don't like the mess it leaves.

Im only having trouble with morning wood if I change cages or make adjustment. Then its always a few days of getting used to it before it stops bothering me.
I’m locked and kept by Redraven, my life partner, soulmate and loving key holder. When life is hard, she’s keeps me feeling loved.

Morning burn used to bother me to. Then I read an entry from someone on this forum (don't remember who), that suggested a shorter cage might help. I went from a standard length Cobra steel cage, to a nub length. It made a huge difference. No more morning burn. My little buddy still tries to get hard most every morning, but with no place to grow, I get a minor "alien bump", and that is it. Again, someone else on this forum coined that phrase "alien bump", and it describes perfectly what happens when your member tries and tries, with no place to go.

4:00-4:30 am is the chagrin of us all
Re: Does Morning Wood *ever* become less painful?
It took me years to get this concept and just recently tested it and found it true. Not sure why but when I have a size to fit no morning wood issue. When I wear a mid size one morning wood issues. Then I wear a short one no morning wood issues. The added bonus is my wife prefers the short/extra small one.Herman wrote: ↑Sun Apr 13, 2025 6:47 pm Morning burn used to bother me to. I have also found that a short cage (about 2.5” shorter than flaccid length) with a diameter that leaves no room to grow at all has been very helpful in reducing morning discomfort.
On a related note, my wife/KH asked me to put my cage on yesterday morning (out of the blue) after a few months of being free. TBH I was kind of dreading last night assuming the morning wood would happen and I be up and uncomfortable from 3:30 on. I did wake up; not so much with a “burn” but the tight squeeze of the cage on my wanna-be erection. To my surprise, I was able to go right back to sleep and slept through to the alarm rang.
That is a GREAT start to this lockup and I’m hoping body memory kicks in faster and I sleep through the night.
