Unbearable pain in jailbird.

Post by Outed_sub »

Just got a MM jailbird with oval base ring. I also have a steelheart. The steelheart had a split ring with caused pinching but was otherwise comfortable. The jailbird could conceivably be comfortable if I could stay seated all day.
I didn't shave for the jailbird though did for the steelheart. Is shaving essential?

For me, no. I just trim to about 1/4 inch or so.

If it doesn't get better, MM is quick to answer emails and are very helpful.
Good luck.

Oooo pain, pain is no good!

For us hubby either has to be shaved our trimmed short so he doesn't get hairs pulled. I also think he finds the sides and underside of the bass ring les irritating and itchy when it's shaved. He might be able to answer better!

What kind of pain are you getting? I don't see that you described it.

As My Lady mentioned, shaving and/or trimming helps avoid getting hairs caught in the post, although when it does happen to me from time to time, the pain is definitely not "unbearable."

Where is the pain you are feeling and what does it feel like? If you are getting skin folds or pinching, you may need to resize your ring.

What's causing it? Your hair? Shaving isn't essential, but sure its going to hurt if your hairs get caught in it - though I wouldn't call that "unbearable"

How does the size/shape of the new base ring compare to your steelheart?

I stay completely shaved and my Jail Bird is completely comfortable. You may have too small a base ring. You should not feel any pain.

I started out with a CB6KS. When I ordered a "jailbird" I ordered two oval rings, one was just slightly bigger than the CB ring I was using and the other just slightly smaller. The reason for the 2 rings was that the gap (1/2 ") for the JB was smaller than what I used for CB (5/8") and I didn't want to have to send it back for another ring. When I got my JB two months ago I put it on and wore it 24/7 right from the start with the larger ring and there were no issues.
After 3 days with the larger ring, I tried the smaller ring. After only two hours with the smaller ring it was very painful and my ball sac was purple in colour. I put the larger ring back on and left it like that for 3 weeks. While wearing the JB 24/7 I noticed after a time my ball sac appeared to be stretching and dropping (not as high and tight).
I began experimenting again with the smaller ring. Within a week I was able to wear the smaller ring (with the cage) for an entire day, however when I tried to wear it at night I could not do it. After a few weeks of the smaller ring in the day and larger ring at night, I was able to wear the smaller ring at night without pain. I am slowly (with my KH's blessing and key) increasing the number of consecutive nights I wear the smaller ring, before giving it a night off by using the larger ring.
It appears my anatomy (opps; I should say my KH's anatomy) is adjusting to the smaller ring over time and hopefully soon I will be wearing the smaller ring 24/7. I have noticed that when I do wear the larger ring that I am not as secure in the device, as I was when I first got it.
I have also found that by using "Aveeno" lotion on my ball sac, first thing in morning after a shower, as well as last thing at night before going to bed, I avoid the burning sensation in my ball sac from the ring rubbing on it that I would get if I didn't use the lotion. It would be worse at night due to nocturnal erections.

If your balls don't escape and you are pain free, why bother with the smaller ring? What do you gain by forcing yourself to do this?

When I first got the JB the fit was fine. The first time I had the smaller ring on I ended up with purple balls so I changed back to the larger ring and did not try the smaller ring for the next three weeks. After I had worn the JB for several weeks I noticed that my ball sac appeared to be stretching and did not fit as snug as when I first got it.

I previously stated
I have noticed that when I do wear the larger ring that I am not as secure in the device, as I was when I first got it.
For that reason I went back to trying the smaller ring wearing during the day and the larger ring at night. The issue with the smaller ring at night was both nocturnal erections and erections caused by my KH playing with me in the cage at first were very painful. On those occasions my KH would release me and let me put on the larger ring. The problem with that is I did wake up one morning and I had fallen out of the cage (including my balls).

I recently went 3 days and two nights in the smaller ring with no issues, however last night my KH was playing with me and the pain returned. She immediately released me from the cage and ring and told me to go without for the night. This morning I was back in the cage with the smaller ring and released for a lengthy play session this afternoon. Again I was right back in the cage and I am still wearing it with the smaller ring as I type this.

I have had no issues all day with pain or any discomfort however I know if the pain does return my KH will release me and let me switch rings. I am not into the pain nor is my KH into seeing me in pain. This is just a transition period so that I can feel secure in my JB.

The Steelheart had a 45mm round ring. The jailbird is an oval ring in very nearly the same diameter. The cage portion of the jailbird is thicker meaning the gap between base ring and cage in less.
The skin in my sack does appear to 'gather' like curtains (or drapes) if you are American.
I could possibly wear it if seated all day but I have a mix of office work, driving and lifting. It became agonisingly painful at work in hot weather and I couldn't wait to remove it.
