MM...Advice please! Second guessing measurements?

Jail Bird ordered last night...very excited. However, I now seem to be second guessing my base ring measurement. I ordered a 2 1/8" oval ring. The sizing ring fit nice and didn't offer any discomfort. It doesn't slip much at all unless I intentionally pulled. I can get 1 finger under, to the first knuckle, almost 2. If I grabbed around the ring I can pull it off completely with not too much trouble, yet not easy. To me that says too loose. Correct? However, the 2" ring SEEMED to be too tight. Not uncomfortable, hard to get off but the second my balls tightened up a little it did cause a some serious discomfort and a little pain. William at MM stated that if I ordered a ring in between the 2 1/8" and 2"...2 1/16" it couldn't be adjusted. So I went with comfort and now worried about being able to get the device off when I want. Wife will not be happy and for good reason.
Any advice? Will oval ring help with ability to pull off?

2 1/8" oval ring
3/8" gap
1 1/2" cage diameter (should be right on)
2 1/4" cage length (2 1/2" was the shortest measurement I had after a few days of checking)

We are finding that the snug when flaccid ring (just had our adjusted too!) Can get uncomfortable. If this is meant to wear very long term you might want to stay where you're at. If you find in the future that you need a smaller one you could always get another ring so you have both incase you need them.

I'm thinking that next time we order any devices that we will always order two base rings now. One at 2" and one just a bit smaller.

I'm not sure why we're having so many issues with the base ring these days but we are trying to work it out.

Relax. Don't sweat the small stuff. The MOST important thing with a MM device is to get the cage size right the first time. Everything else is small potatoes. Base rings can be stretched, shaped, and gaps changed very easily and for just $10. You will really like your MM device (once you are used to it) and most likely end up purchasing more base rings in the future anyway.
