not sure about length

Post by kunst »

I have received my new crossfire. It is very nice, and very comfortable during the day, and it fits perfectly my size. However there are some issues.
Tube diameter is ok, even if when I am erected my girth is 45mm (I think is more than average), and I ordered 38mm that is more than enough when flaccid and allows for some space.
Base ring is 50mm and is perfect.
Let's come to the length: when flaccid I am about 100mm average (ranging from 90 to 110). Therefore I ordered a 98mm length tube. Although during the day, as I said, it is very comfortable, at night and especially when I have morning erections the cage is strongly pushed far from the body causing ball burning.
Since I expected this issue (I have experience with cheap chinese cages) I requested to have 3 eyelets welded to the base ring, so that I tie the ring through the eyelets to a belt, thus forcing the base ring to adhere to the body. Now, what happens is that my dick tries to grow and pushes against the head of the crossfire causing a strong pain and I have to remove the cage by early morning.
Do you have any experience with this issue?
Should I have ordered a longer cage maybe? I thought that more than 100mm was too long (BTW I am 150mm erected).
Manufacturer said that the cage cannot be modified, I have to order a new one eventually.
My concern is that if I order a cage 115mm long, for example, the curvature becomes too much. I was thinking to request to make the last 20-30mm straight instead of curved.
What do you think?

I think your instincts are counter to what you should do. Instead of looking for a longer cage to accommodate your erection you should be shortening the tube to stop things before they go too far. Thumper has some thoughts on his site (denyingthumper.com) that talks specifically about shorter being better. There's a long list of guys who have realized this over time. Almost everyone starts too big and then shortens things up as they go.

Try it, you'll like it.

We definitely started too big I think but then I think we may have gone too small in adjusting... I can't tell right now. We just ordered a Revenge with a slightly longer tube... we will see if 1/4 of an inch makes any difference! :)

I can try. After all to shorten the cage I can make a plastic cylindrical insert 10 or 20mm long to put towards the head of the cage.
BTW I could not find the specific section on the blog you suggested.
I have read somewhere in this or other forums that it is better to shorten the cage, but everybody suggests to measure dick when flaccid to choose steelworxx, and so I did... :?

I had a similar issue. I wrote to Mature Metal to order a cage. He responded "I need more information. How long do you want it?"

I told him "Oh, I'm thinking for at least ten years."

Oddly, he never replied.

In my experience shorter and narrower are better. MM says take your avg flaccid length (measured under dick from where it meets your balls and subtract another 1/4 inch. You want the head bumping the cage almost all the time. I think the diameter should be narrow enough to require a little lube to put on. That way an erection never gets a start. I tried several combinations and ended up liking the shortest best.

I agree about the length: you want it short. However, my cage diameter is not too tight. It touches on all sides, but there's not any pressure when I'm totally flaccid. I'm happy I did this. I'm a grower, and my penis is pretty squishy, so I was concerned a cage that fit too snug would cause edema.

I understand what you say, that short is better because it stops erection at the beginning.
However, I am not convinced that longer would be worst. In other words, medium is bad while short or long shoud be good, but long might be more confortable (in my opinion).
I think this because before buying crossfire I had this cage
http://tinyurl.com/o2lwaf4
that is very long and did not present the same issue. It has another problem: diameter too small (35mm) while crossfire diameter is ok, and the bars are pushing against the skin, so I get skin irritation.
But the length was ok, so I wonder what if I ordered crossfire the same length...
Moreover, as I said, during the day crossfire is ok and I fill it completely even when flaccid. If I ordered it shorter than I think I might had pressure on dick head all the day...
correct me if I am wrong :?
