I have seen where some people are having problems with the Mature Metal screws working loose. If it is doing it when you first get the device you need to contact MM and let him know, there may be a problem with the threads.
If it was okay when you first received it, I may have something for you to try. Stainless steel is slick by its own composition. When you introduce a lubricant, it becomes slicker. This is the reason ball bearings and such are made of this.
When we wear the cages we introduce body oils and other lubricants to help with chaffing. There are even oils in the soaps that are used to clean with. These oils can wick into the threads of the screws. This allows the screws to easily work themselves loose with the cage moving back and forth on the post.
I clean the screw and threads in the post whenever the cage is removed. Not often enough for me but… Since I have started doing this my problem with loose screws has almost gone away. I still will have a problem with extended wear, three or four weeks, but for the most part it’s helped.
To clean the threads you will need isopropyl alcohol 91%. You can find it at any drug store. It’s important not to use rubbing alcohol because it has oil in it. The price of isopropyl alcohol is about the same as rubbing alcohol. You will also need a toothbrush.
Using the toothbrush, scrub the threads and inside face of the screw head with the isopropyl alcohol. Get the toothbrush wet frequently because isopropyl alcohol will evaporate fast. While the screw is still wet, dry with a paper towel. This will help get the oil off. The first time repeat scrubbing it three or four times. After that a couple of times should be good.
With the base ring removed, you don’t want alcohol dripping there while wearing it, repeat the scrubbing on the base ring threads. Try to move the bristles in-and-out and around. Make sure to work the toothbrush in from both sides. For the first time I would recommend scrubbing five or six times, and after that two or three times. The reason is because it's harder to clean inside of here.

Re: MM loose screws
Thanks Locked by LRC, I just recently went back to the padlock since after a week or so the screw started to work it's way loose enough that I could unscrew it without the key. Was ready to try some blue loctite. Will try your recommendation next time I'm out.
Happily secured since 4/2010

Re: MM loose screws
A dab of fingernail polish on the head of the screws works too. (That's what I use on my SS .44 Mag snubbie to keep the screws from loosening up.)locked4her55 wrote:Thanks Locked by LRC, I just recently went back to the padlock since after a week or so the screw started to work it's way loose enough that I could unscrew it without the key. Just do not EVER EVER use red locktite....it isn't coming off unless the screw is heared with a tiny torch tip first. Probably a better removal alternative would be to drill the thing out......and considering the location...neither option is pleasant to think about.

I'm not a gynecologist, but I'll take a very close look.

Blue loctite works for me. If I'm in for an extended period of time I use it.
