Jailbird mod. question...
Jailbird mod. question...
I'm sending my MM Jailbird back to tighten up my base ring and gap. I was thinking about having him remove the two horizontal end bars and re-install them a little farther apart in order to make urination a little less messier when standing at a urinal. Currently my wife unlocks me on most weekends because public men's rooms are usually so nasty. I was wondering if anyone else has done this and what did he charge? Thanks in advance.

Re: Jailbird mod. question...
I don't have the Jailbird but, I do have a MM device. When I ordered mine I didn't want the horizontal bars and he made it that way. So, I can't help you with the price but I can say it is not messy at all and am very happy I did it.
You can see in my Avitar what it will look like.

If you will email MM and tell them exactly what you want done, they will tell you what the cost will be. you can pay via PayPal. Most adjustments were $10.jeffro wrote: I was wondering if anyone else has done this and what did he charge? Thanks in advance.

Re: Jailbird mod. question...
I sent mine back and had MM spread the horizontal bars. Just a small amount (about 1/4") made a big difference. Mine was in to have another base ring added so I only think they charged me for the added ring and not the modification to the bars.jeffro wrote:I'm sending my MM Jailbird back to tighten up my base ring and gap. Re: Jailbird mod. question...
Thanks for the replies guys. I still haven't sent it back yet because I'm experimenting with a double base ring also. I found an old stainless steel cock ring that was the same size as my current base ring and rigged them together. I was going to get my base ring made smaller to prevent a little slippage but this seems to have solved that problem. And it is more comfortable. But I understand that MM can't adjust a double ring so I need to be sure. I'm also going from 3/8 to 1/4 gap size. As for the end bars I'm leaning towards having him remove them but spreading them a little sounds feasible as well.

Just a quick input...
the double bas ring is just two base rings tacked together while there isn't really a "gap" between them the inside of the double base ring isn't one solid piece (I kinda wished it was) if the extra ring you have is working good and isn't slipping so it will pinch you, you might as well save a few bucks by doing what you already have.
Also when I originally purchased my jailbird I order too small and had to order a new one (expensive learning curve), I later removed the vertical and horizontal bars myself with a dremal and a "lock cutting disk" I bought from Lowes. I just took my time and afterwards smoothed the areas with very fine sand paper. Of course this was on a cage I wasn't planning on really needing so I wasn't too stressed if it wasn't going to work out how I wanted.
