Best Device to start with

Post by poboy »

Hello!
I am new to the forum and am very excited to say that my wife told me to buy a chastity device. We have been experimenting with T&D on and off for a few years. I am a bit of a chronic masturbator and the idea of being locked up by her is very exciting.

After a little research I think I have decided to purchase a CB6000.

So I have two basic questions:

A) I am about 4" flaccid and about 5.75 inches hard. It looks like the regular CB6000 measures 3.25 inches. Is that the right size for me?

B) I see that the cheap ($30) models on Amazon are Chinese knock offs and some folks complain about their fit and/or comfort. As we are new to this I don't know that I want to spend $150+ on an original as I don't know how much we will really use it. So do you think the cheapo version might be ok for a starter or will it be so aweful that it will ruin my experience and make me never want wear a chasity device again.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Thx,
WannaBLocked

There is a saying- "You get what you pay for" and in many cases it is absolutely true. I don't think I would go for a cheap copy, especially for something that is made of plastic. What recourse do you have if it breaks? Will the seller make good on it?

I might be willing to go for something less expensive when it comes to metal devices, but knowing in advance that the cheaper model may have a shorter service life (rust issues, etc.) if the price difference is significant.

$150 is not really a lot of money these days, you could easily drop that much for a 'date night' (drinks, dinner, movie at a theater)...and if money is a little tight and it takes some extra effort to blow that much on a 'toy', well, you just might think twice about busting it to get out of it.

-----------------------------------------------

I'm just a bit bigger when erect (a little more than 1/4") and I find that the CB3k has worked fairly well for me (similar dimensions to the 6k?). I *am* curious as to how I might fare in the 6k 'short' model, but sometimes I also think I might want something that more closely matches my erect size, to let me 'stretch out' a little but that could be rather difficult to hide.

If you go for the genuine 6k model, for a little extra you can get both the regular and the short cages. That will let you see what works best for you without having to buy two complete separate devices...and from there you can start thinking about springing for a more expensive metal device.

I agree with twisted, if I was going to go cheap on a first device and get a clone I would rather get a clone metal device. It is bad enough worrying that a real CB6k might crack, really wouldn't want to add a cheap copy to that. At least with the steel device it would happen slower (rust) and you could mitigate the problem before it became a real issue.

WannaBLocked, I agree with both TwistedMister and Atone with regards to staying away from a cheap plastic copy. My only issue with a cheap metal product is that it's not very adjustable.

I'm about an inch smaller than you flaccid and started with a CB3000. That was ok but I found the CB6000s to be so much better. What was extremely helpful was the ability to change ring and gap sizes to get the proper fit. It also allowed me to experiment with various "anti-pull out" devices like the POI and KSD.

I love my custom metal JailBird but the CB6000s aided me in getting properly adjusted to move up to a custom CD.

Like TwistedMister said, It's a dinner and a movie. For something I'm gonna lock on a very precious part of my body 24/7. I'll splurge a little. Go for the real thing and get a CB6000. A cheap version might cost you more in the long run.
Happily secured since 4/2010 :-)

I have a different viewpoint. I'm 2.25 flacid and 1 1/8 in diameter and caged since May 2011. If you are going to be putting something on your body, don't mess with fakes. I bought a legit CB6000 and as a grower, fill it quickly. Never had a problem. In fact it's comfort made a big contribution to me accepting my new 24/7 caged status. If it were uncomfortable not so sure - you got to get along with it.

The CB is a GREAT learning and starter device - but the day will come where your KH decides it will become a long term part of your relationship, then you will most likely graduate to metal. Hygene, looks, comfort, errection control.

I measured for Mature Metals jailbird and as I type this, it is being shipped to my KH. I am sure the next adjustent I will have to learn is that a custom made MM will fit me like a glove - and absolutely prohibit any growth. My KH is very happy with the looks as she is partial to silver jewelry.

The CB will be there as a "traveler" since with the plastic locks - I can be caged 24/7/365.

BTW, I am on a 4 times a year cum schedule. My KH decided after 30 years of marriage that penitration is not for her - but loves oral.

Thanks for the advice fellas. So the real deal CB6000 is on the way.

I think my wife is not that excited by the idea but just told me to go for it as I (sometimes) love the idea. We will see if she warms to it?

Thanks again.

Makes me wonder...what the percentage is, of wives/GFs that were "not that excited" in the beginning but then grew to really appreciate it after experiencing the benefits. Mrs. Twisted was one who wasn't terribly excited, at first, but now I'm 18 months into a 13 month lock-up (our rules allow the Mistress several options for extending the period of her control).

From a Woman's perspective, I wasn't that sure about a device until I actually saw it on my husband in person, then I knew immediately that I loved it. We went to Mr. S Leathers in San Francisco and tried on a few different ones and right away I preferred the look of a metal cage over plastic. As soon as I grabbed the metal cage with my hand I knew this was for me!

The metal cages are pretty expensive, so we bought the Bird Cage on sale from Extreme Restraints. I think the same thing can be purchased from ebay, but I have done business with Extreme Restraints before, so I was more comfortable with them. I think it's worth buying an inexpensive metal cage to start, to be sure you both enjoy it. Then you can buy a made-to-order one from Mature Metal or elsewhere.

Warm regards,

Update. Got the Jailbird a week ago and she unlocked the cb6000s then go up and take a shower, shave off the hair. Then she told me to put it on and put on the security screw. Big smiles from her.

She likes the sleek look without locks and is very happy with the security screw.

One minor complaint to MM - the scew "Key" does not have a T handle on the end and what we got just does not work well. Suggest going to a version that has a handle on the end.

I will second that. Our new Jail Bird has the security screw and while I enjoy the look, it is not easy to get in. It's difficult to get everything lined up. Perhaps something secure but more woman friendly?
