What a difference an eighth makes!!

Post by wishful4 »

After a short break from my Mature Metal device while running errands, I was instructed to lock up as soon as we returned home. I decided to try my 1 3/4 in oval base ring instead of my standard 1 7/8 in ring. It was only a short time locked until I was getting some moderate discomfort on the bottom of my scrotum. With permission from my KH/spouse, I unlocked and relocked with the 1 7/8 in base ring. I have had no discomfort since. Putting the rings together, there appears not much size difference to the eye, but there is a huge difference in wearing comfort. Anyone else find that to be the case?

Yes. I found that as I get smaller rings and closer to my limit that even 1mm makes a big difference (1/8" is a little over 3mm). I went back and forth a few times between my 41mm ring and my 40mm ring before I could stay in the 40mm full time. What really surprised me with this one was just how different it feels. I can't really explain it but the whole device just sits different than it ever did with any of the other rings.

I just recently (like last week) went through what you are talking about. When I ordered my JB earlier this year Mistress MM suggested I try the 1 3/4" oval ring which is one size down from what I wore with my CB6000s. Wore it for several days and developed some moderate discomfort at the bottom of the ring. Was disappointed since I felt very secure wearing it with little or no chance of pull out. I sent my JB back and had them make me a 1 7/8" oval base ring. When that arrived I wore it for almost 2 weeks without any soreness. Problem was that at times I felt I could easily pull out of the device. I then went back to the 1 3/4" (thinking maybe I had acclimated myself enough to try to go smaller) and 3 days later I was in pain again in the same place.

Well MM as great as they are with customer service, took back my 1 3/4" base ring and increased it by 1/16". That ring went on this past Friday and WOW what a difference a 1/16" of an inch can make. Lesser chance of escape than with the 1 3/4" ring and as of day 5 no soreness. Anywhere :D
Happily secured since 4/2010 :-)

I have exactly the same issue with the 1 3/4 in oval ring. I can wear it for a while, sometimes for a couple of days, but eventually it is too uncomfortable to wear. My 1 7/8" base ring is comfortable all the time, but when I am very relaxed it can get a bit loose. Normally I can't pullout of it, but if I'm very relaxed and soaped up in the shower, I can pullout. I may email MM and see if he will do the same for my 1 3/4 in ring.

Did MM charge you anything to stretch the ring :?:

I enclosed a check for $10.00 to cover the return postage. That was it. Sent it out Saturday and had it back 6 days later. :D

Emailed MM today and they promptly replied. They said I might consider reducing the gap to 1/4" on the 1 7/8 in base ring, too. He requested the the entire device be sent so I will have to wait until my next unlocked period. Not sure when that will be. Ditto your comment about their great customer service.
