Gold Padlocks and Keys

Post by Sir Chaste »

I recently came across this manufacturer listed on the Altairboy website, which sells several styles of padlocks for CD's. They include Palladium and Gold Plated padlocks and matching keys, which would certainly look great hanging from a KH's 14K Gold necklace! I have already ordered a set for my new MM JailBird, which is on order. They are available from a Swiss firm, Lust Lock, and the Gold Plated standard padlocks can be found on their website as follows: http://www.lustlock.com/shop/index.php? ... ry&path=35 All padlocks and keys can also be personally engraved, if desired.

Nice idea. I can understand that the gold plated keys will look nice in a necklace; but why do you need the gold plated lock when it will always be hidden? My KH wife does not believe in any padlocks as according to her I am likely to try out duplicate keys. So from the first day she has locked me in jailhouse steel CD with a combination number lock. And at every release she changes the number combination.

I believe that the Gold Plated finish will remain brighter longer than the brass finish of the standard Master padlocks. The Lust Lock site states that they use precision German locks (probably Abus), and that their finish is "waterproof and urine proof." I recall that the finish of the brass Master padlock that came with my CB6000s became visibly discolored after prolonged use. I am currently using a silver-colored aluminum Master padlock, available at Target, which is lighter in weight and does not tarnish as easily.

Linus: If your KH wife "changes the number combination" "at every release," I certainly hope for your sake that she will remember her most recent combination!

In case anyone needs to purchase the standard brass padlocks manufactured by Master Lock, they can be obtained from 1st in Padlocks, as follows: http://www.1st-in-padlocks.com/masterlock-m-5.html

In case anyone is interested in purchasing small heart-shaped padlocks, in either a gold-colored or silver-colored finish with matching keys, they can be obtained from the firm E-Restraint as follows: http://erestraint.com/Merchant2/merchan ... ry_Code=PL However, these locks do not provide high security, as they use standard handcuff keys, which are widely available and therefore can be easily obtained.

Back in the CB3K day LRC got one of the heart shaped locks. When she showed it to me she said with the cuff key I was more secure. As I looked at it I asked her is she really trusted me that much. When she asked why, I took one of her bobby pins and opened the lock in about five seconds. She was amazed. The opening of the key hole was so big you could see the latching cam inside. A light touch of the cam with the bobby pin and it opened. I never wore it on my cage.

Continuing my search for small and secure locks, I came across a line of chrome padlocks which are available from Dream Steel, a German firm. These locks are sold in two sizes, and they can be viewed as follows: http://translate.google.com/translate?h ... md%3Dimvns Click on the Accessories page to find the locks. I believe that these padlocks, because of their chrome finish, will not tarnish as easily as the standard brass models manufactured by Master Lock.

Finally, as if we did not already have more than enough small locks to choose from, I have now come across these rubber-covered brass padlocks, which are available from the British firm, Cock Locker. They are supposed to be exceptionally strong, are made to fit all CD's, and come with only one key. These locks can be viewed as follows: http://www.cocklocker.co.uk/product.cfm?p=16934 They appear to be rather similar to the small, black-coated Master padlocks which are often supplied with the CB6000 series CD's.

Just when I had thought that I had discovered every possible variation of small locks available, I came across these one-inch padlocks covered with rhinestones. They can be purchased from the Canadian firm Church of Sinvention, and can be viewed as follows: http://www.churchofsinvention.com/Conne ... dlock.html I wonder whether singer Glen Campbell was wearing one of these padlocks on his CD, when he sang the song "Rhinestone Cowboy!"
