Uhhh.... how do the sizes have an 8-10 inch waist range?
Because if I try to fit into 24" waist jeans, I will rip them in half. This is steel, so obviously it is not going to rip. Assuming the size is perfectly in the middle, that's asking for up to a 5" waist reduction for the belt.
Personally, I would worry much more about getting a good fit than escaping.
