I have to say that having now been on the forums for sometime, I doesn't bother me personally now but I am not the audience that we were debating (ie new KHs). I started the question off about a little while back when we were all having a typical reasonable discussion and it occured to me that it felt like I was actually addressing an audience of male genitalia rather than people (the thought of which actually made me laugh but that's my sense of humour)...

When we first started out with chastity a few years ago, I do remember however when I first went onto Chastity Mansion to see what my hub had found and to try and "get a handle" on his thought process. I have to admit - I was initially repelled by all the cock avatars and found it very difficult to communicate with folks who posted the pics. It seemed rather pervy and unnecessary and I don't believe that my initial reaction was unusual or excessively timid.

Out there in the real world, I think women get a bit pissed off with constant images of sex and at times, it can feel intimidating, pressured and adds to all the ambient insecurities that us ladies suffer. Mainstream porn feels irrelevant, our sexual interests uncatered for and misunderstood. In amongst all that noise, a forum like this should be an island of calm, a nugget of honesty and a place to ask real people real questions about real life. There are plenty of threads on here where guys are having detailed conversations about ring sizes, pinching etc - ie the practicalities of wearing a device and that's great. The forum is definately meeting those needs admirably and I have no doubt that to see other cocks in cages normalises the process that men are going through.

So - what is this forum for?

If you as members see it as a guys swop shop of ideas, hints and tips and occasional fiction then, I think we've created an open and supportive place where this takes place. If, however, this is also an area where women can ask chaste men nervous questions to try and understand their husband's journey then, in the main, this forum also works well If the ladies dont get put off as soon as they land on this site for the first time.

Men are FAR more visually orientated than women so it will be more likely to put off a woman than a man. (Only as a statistic, not a rule!)

I must agree with almost everything CQ posted. At first I was put off by the number of images on CM. In a way they almost trivialize the posts to me. I have a hard time taking you serious when your avatar is a caged cock in frilly pink panties. Now I just ignore the avatars.

This site didn't exist (unfortunately) when I introduced my wife to chastity play and in my naivety I showed her CM. That was the last time I got her to look at a chastity forum.

There are obviously some ladies who get past that first impression, but I can say from solid experience not all.

Also agree with CQ's point that it all depends on what the members want this forum to be. And I think she's summed up perfectly the way I relate to it in the two sentences Tom quoted before the italics.

Well, the the poll will be closing soon. The number of voters tallied a total of 5 and all were middle of the road. The numbers were smaller than I had hoped to see. I expected the forum participants to be shewed towards lockie versus locker...so to speak. So if the numbers reveal anything....It looks like avatars that display nudity are an acceptable choice.
