Re: Steelworxx Steelheart Questions

Post by danj »

So I've been corresponding with Dietmar on sizing. I've been measuring and coming up with 3.25-3.5"flaccid...so say 86-88mm. Based on that Dietmar is thinking an overall length of about 93-95 (adding 5mm). This seems long for a guy currently wearing a cb-6000s. I'm now settled into the smallest spacer, too. So I pretty much always fill the 6000s cage. Do I want that extra 5mm?

Does this seem to jibe with everyone's experiences coming out of the plastic cb? I want enough room, but don't want excess tube length I don't need. I would say my cb-6000s is a pretty ideal length. Yet that tube is 2.5 inches. I realize the cb gives extra room at the spacer and ring, but so does the Steelheart, so why would I need all those extra mm? Should I just take my 3.25 - 3.5 flaccid length and use THAT for the overall length (as opposed to the tube length)? Any thoughts?

Seems like my Steelheart will be pretty big and maybe a little too obvious under my clothes. Maybe the 6000s isn't as small as I thought.

I really appreciate everyone's input. I'd hate to get my device all the way from Germany and have it not fit!

@danj, that does seem pretty big if you like the fit of the CB6000S. What diameter are you getting? I have found that all the different devices that I have all have a different "feel" to them so it is hard to compare one to another. I personally don't like having any extra length in the tube but that may vary based on the diameter as well.

The only thing worse than having a device that is too big is having one that is too small. At least if it is too big you can wear it and use it as a guide to refine the sizing. If it is too small you are pretty well screwed.

Atone,

I'm looking at 35mm for the diameter of the tube. I might think about having him bring it down to 33 or 34mm. I'm still measuring, so not certain yet.

On another note regarding pricing, I would assume you didn't pay the 19% VAT (as a US resident) since it exported out of the EU? From what I've seen on the web, this looks to be the case.

I don't have any experience with the S model. I had the cb6K before the S model came out and I wasn't ready to spend anything more on plastic. So, I cant make a comparison directly to the S model... but...

My flaccid measurement I came up with was between 2.75 and 3. Yes, the CB6K always felt a bit long when flacid. I went with 95mm total length. 35mm tube. (unless he has offered a custom, the website lists the next size down on tube to be 29mm which is really small).

I would actually be comfortable if my tube was 5 or even 10 mm shorter. But, it is even comfortable during morning erections. So, not worth messing with success over a couple of mm's. However, if I was ever sending it back anyway for any other adjustment (smaller ring, etc...), I would probably have him shorten it a bit.

So, ***personal opinion only*** Deitmers suggestion of 93-95 sounds about right.

No, I was not charged any VAT as a US resident.

If it helps at all (and if the attachments work). Here is a side by side of the Steelheart (35mm tube vy 95mm length) and the CB6K

I don't think he can do 33 or 34 (although you should ask) but I know he can do 32mm because I have one.

and no VAT.

I love the way that steelheart2 looks next to the CB6K. It just doesn't look nearly that big next to it.

gungadn,

Great photos, that does help me get some perspective if I go with a tube around that size. Glad to see it looks smaller than I expected. Thanks for posting them.

Atone,

Yeah, I need to check further with Dietmar on what he can do on diameter. Though, I think 35mm will be fine anyway. I don't think I'd want to shave off more than a couple mm.

The VAT savings is great, really makes the Steelheart a great deal. Can't wait to get this thing ordered :D

What is the difference between the 1&2?

Is either the comfort ring and anatomic base worth the extra €?
