Thanks for the advice..Subinmemphis wrote:I measured under my dick and subtracted 1/4" and it fits absolutely perfect.
If I had subtracted 3/4" it would have been 1/2" too short. MM can only shorten them, not lengthen, so don't fall prey to bad advice and render your expensive device useless.

Re: Plastic to Steel Q & A
Oh yeah...forgot to address your pin question.
I have two MM devices...Both have pins. The QK has three different short pins and the JB does as well but they are not interchangeable because mm won't make the head thicknesses the same. Of course...they sell more pins this way.
Also, large, medium, and small are relative to your cage size, not standard lengths. :/
In my qk, all my pins are short and I only use it to keep the device from sliding down. So I use the pointed one. In my jb, the medium pointed pin does inflict pain (just a little) when I'm getting hard, so I use the blunt one to keep it from sagging down.
Having said that, if you're high n tight, this may not be an issue for you but I have enormous balls and a long sack. Each one is bigger than a golf ball, and I have to 'pop' each one through a 2" ring.
As the woman said, get ready to send some money to Texas for adjustments, but it's worth it once everything is adjusted.

If you're going to use any CB series as a test for gap, check the device closely. I hang low and could wear the CB6Ks with the smallest spacer for days with no problem. I did exactly what you are planning and when I put the MM device on I found out in about ten minutes a 1/4" gap wouldn't work. I was getting very dark and cool, bad indications.johnellakh wrote:...I am thinking about tying a 1/4" gap with my curve before placing my MM order...
When I checked my CB I found that it tilted up and down a little. This is what gave me the wrong idea for the gap. I checked all of my CB series and found they all did it, including the Curve. I would suggest you check your Curve to see if you have this movement also before ordering.
If you order the wrong gap this is an adjust that MM can make.
Current device - MM Custom
Previous devices - CB2000, 3000, 6000, 6000s, Curve

Absolutely agree with L by LRC.
One of the first things I noticed when moving from plastic to metal. The plastic gap flexes. The metal doesn't. It is an easy but inconvenient fix, but keep this in mind when ordering.

Thanks so very much for your experience.Lady M wrote:You're welcome, we've ordered a few devices from MM, and spent a good amount of money adjusting them. we use the oval ring. What it does is gives you slightly more room for sack skin on the sides - hope that makes sense lol. There is not too much difference between the two rings but we got oval because my hubby, when attempting an erection, is wider at the sides and flatter on top at the base. If you get more rounded at the base you may be more comfortable with round.johnellakh wrote: Thanks so much for taking the time to read and repond to my post. Your insight into this subject has been very helpful.
How do you feel about the MM oval base ring V the round base ring? Have you any knowledge about the anti pull out pins? I've been told they are mainly just to inflict pain when aroused..
I will be sharing your info with my amazing KH. She may even join the forum.
Thanks again for your help
I would have suggested getting extra base rings (I usually suggest two - one being smaller) like LOCKED HUSBAND did but you seem to be wearing a device already and your base ring is a bit easier to get right when you've got at least some device on your cock already hahaha
As for Subinmemphis's comment about resizing. Right, a cage can be shortened but, especially since you're finding a little "pull back" in your current device, as a general rule 1/2" is good and especially if you decide to go with only the 1/4" gap.
Good luck to you... all we can offer is our experience, no one body or penis is the same and ultimately you need to make your own choices. I'm glad to share our experience with you.
I is greatly appreciated

Re: Plastic to Steel Q & A
I am very happy with the fit of my MM Jail Bird. My first shot at length was 1/2 too long. My current cage is comfortable and my entire penis is always touching the bars. That means things stay lined up for peeing and erections truly have nowhere to go. Now that I have been in the shorter cage for several months, I can't find a single reason why the cage shouldn't be as short as possible.

Re: Plastic to Steel Q & A
Thanks for the input. All if this info is very helpful. My KH and I are very excited about upgrading to a custom steel cage. She loves the chrome steel. She likes the idea of more comfort with better security and She also thinks its sexy. I am looking forward to being more securely locked and being able to more more freely without having to worry about breaking my device.Tame Lion wrote:I am very happy with the fit of my MM Jail Bird. Will probably place our order after the first of the year. I am sure I will be posting lots about it when she locks me in it for the first time. The way things are going now, she may never take it off. She has already made several comments about the BK or the WM being a lot easier to keep clean. She said I will really only need to remove it to shave or when she needs to use her property.
I am preparing myself for long term chastity for her. We seem to both enjoy the benifits of keeping me locked up tight.

Re: Plastic to Steel Q & A
How about the weight difference in wearing steel vs CBCurve? Jailbird is 5 oz on their site, but does it seem heavier than plastic? And is a JB easier to keep clean? I am in a CBCurve and looking at getting the JB for Christmas or so.
It's good to be caged.
