Plastic to Steel Q & A

Post by johnellakh »

I am currently wearing a CB-X Curve. For all practical purposes it is working out fine other than some problems with the U ring/base ring breaking, at the point it connects with the two upper pin plates. I have solved this issue by using super glue to perminately glue these three pieces together. This strengthened the base ring and allowed me to start wearing my device 24/7. This has pleased my beautiful KH/wife.
Now, we are wanting to upgrade to a steel device. We have been looking at the MM Jail Bird.
This is what I am thinking about trying when I order the MM device
I am currently using a 2 1/8" base ring and I can get two fingers under it. My scrotum has stretched some sense I started wearing the curve.
I am thinking about going with one size smaller base ring and possibly making it a double ring.
I am also thinking about shortening the cage length by at least 1/4" . With the curve, I am at the end when I first put it on but the longer I have it on I find myself using a
Q-Tip to push the head down towards the end so I can pee without creating a shower.
I think the cage diameter is perfect at 1 1/2" because it is snug but not tight. Everything stays inside unless I am being teased by my sexy KH and then it will push out through the openings.
Has anyone reading this made this upgrade from the Curve to a MM device? Any information would be helpful. I am hoping to get the measurements correct the first time so I don't have to send anything back.
Locked 24/7 until my sexy KH decides to release me.

Measure your shaft from the balls to the tip when in your normal flaccid state, then subtract 1/4". That should get your length right.

We went from the Birdcage (metal version of a curve kinda) to a couple MM devices.

First of all: your base ring should fit to the first knuckle of your index finger. The double ring is good because it spreads out some of the area, however not necessary and cannot be resized once you get one.
Second: what you say about your length with wear, that's totally normal. You do need to measure many many times at different times of the day, on the underside of your penis. Measure at your sack at the base, do not push into it. Once you get an average, subtract AT LEAST 1/2 an inch but you might even consider 3/4 of an inch.

It sounds like the diameter is good.

Hope this helps!

I think subtracting 3/4 inch from your normal flaccid length is correct. First of all, the gap will probably be 3/8". Then, you have the thickness of the ring. Finally, the device will naturally slide away from your body a little bit. I found that subtracting 3/4" worked very well for me.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read and repond to my post. Your insight into this subject has been very helpful.
How do you feel about the MM oval base ring V the round base ring? Have you any knowledge about the anti pull out pins? I've been told they are mainly just to inflict pain when aroused..
I will be sharing your info with my amazing KH. She may even join the forum.
Thanks again for your help

I measured the gap that I am using now and it measured 5/16".
I am thinking about tying a 1/4" gap with my curve before placing my MM order.
One of my testicals pulled through when I was using the 3/8 gap..
Thanks so much for your response.
This is exactly the kind of input I am looking for.

We just ordered my MM JB we ordered it with 3 base rings 2" w/ 1/4 gap a 1 7/8 with 3/8 gap and 1 3/4 with 3/8 gap in hopes we won't have to send it back as I had the 1 nut come out with the 2" base ring and 3/8 gap also . On my present cage I modified it to 1/4 gap and have had no problems . I would suggest ordering the extra base rings . we ordered the 1 3/8 cage dia. and 2" cage length as I modified my present cage to meet this and I fill it 99% of the time. Hope this helps

I measured under my dick and subtracted 1/4" and it fits absolutely perfect.
If I had subtracted 3/4" it would have been 1/2" too short. MM can only shorten them, not lengthen, so don't fall prey to bad advice and render your expensive device useless.

You're welcome, we've ordered a few devices from MM, and spent a good amount of money adjusting them. we use the oval ring. What it does is gives you slightly more room for sack skin on the sides - hope that makes sense lol. There is not too much difference between the two rings but we got oval because my hubby, when attempting an erection, is wider at the sides and flatter on top at the base. If you get more rounded at the base you may be more comfortable with round.

I would have suggested getting extra base rings (I usually suggest two - one being smaller) like LOCKED HUSBAND did but you seem to be wearing a device already and your base ring is a bit easier to get right when you've got at least some device on your cock already hahaha

As for Subinmemphis's comment about resizing. Right, a cage can be shortened but, especially since you're finding a little "pull back" in your current device, as a general rule 1/2" is good and especially if you decide to go with only the 1/4" gap.

Good luck to you... all we can offer is our experience, no one body or penis is the same and ultimately you need to make your own choices. I'm glad to share our experience with you.
