I think they do offer just the cage but I wouldn't swear to it. My fits just about right - when I think of the work it took to make the standard size cage wear well - I don't think I could bring myself to toss it - much less cut and weld - that is way beyond my ability. Let us know how it goes though.

I believe it was a genuine Bon4M ordered from Bon4.com (around $200.00). I wasn't aware there were already copies. My observation on China origin came from the packaging it arrived in and the airmail... Perhaps that was incorrect?

Mine arrived in 3 days from California to Florida. It does not have all the rough edges you speak about. Mine had one little spot that the sandpaper took care of. Other than that, no problems with construction. Like you, I need a small gap. I have one testicle smaller than the other so that makes sizing a problem. Slippage does occur sometimes if I sit with the seat of the chair pressing up on my Testicles, doing a lot of physical activity and sometimes I wake up with it off of me completely.

I have metal working tools but do not plan on doing what you did. I am going to pick up some rubber tubing at Home Depot and slide it around the ring. This will provide a comfortable surface an decrease the size of the opening a little bit. I will probably have to replace the tubing every so often but you can get a lot of it for a decent price.

Two things I've used for fine finishing/polishing on stainless.
One is Cratex wheels, sort of an abrasive-impregnated rubber compound, available in cones, balls, discs, various grits. Think about an old style typewriter eraser and you'll be close. I use them in an electric die grinder. They leave a really nice satin finish on SS, close to the finish in the photo.
Available from MSC, Grainger, McMaster, and most other industrial suppliers.

The other is felt bobs, again in a die grinder, with polishing compounds,(jewelers rouge, etc). Gets a lot closer to a mirror finish, but takes FOREVER! Also not as good as the cratex for removing burrs (makes them razor sharp. 8-0)

As far as cutting the device down and welding it back together, you could do it with a MIG and SS wire, but TIG would be much cleaner, and probably much easier to jig up. I've cut down a couple of Chinese wire cages, and the best result I got was with the TIG and 312 alloy wire.

I got one two weeks ago and agree with everything you say. I polished the exterior with my Dremel but I am small so the interior is not a problem since I barely get past the ring. The opening is my major problem and why I cannot use it. I have one testicle that is much smaller than the other and it slips out when I am bent over or just hot and sweaty. I am not going to do what you did as I lack the equipment and skills so for me, I will try to sell it. Used just for a few hours and it is a shame that you cannot move the cage closer to the ring because I find it more comfortable than my CB6000s. For the money they should have provided maybe two shorter smaller pins. All it would have taken was slight modification to make those two small pins removable. A real shame an now I have to go through the hassle of selling it despite liking it a lot.

You can adjust the gap with the pins in place. I've done it; more below.

I asked about this in this discussion http://chastityforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=59940 and was told (and I agree) that the guide pins are necessary. Every device has some way to keep the cage from twisting out of alignment with the ring. With this one it's the pin. I'd love to see something else, but it is what it is.

I both turned my 48mm ring into an oval (see above post) and have adjusted the gap to make it smaller. The combination gave me a great fit, making it possible to wear 24/7 without having to take it off unless my keyholder wants it to come off. It's been over a month now so I'm comfortable saying that this is the one.

Hardness isn't the main property of stainless steel; resistance to rust and corrosion is. It's surprisingly soft and can be bent without heating.

The ring was not parallel to the ring on the cage on mine, so a bit more open at the bottom than I wanted it to be, and I tended to pop out even though I made it into an oval. To adjust the gap on my B4M I put the top third of the closed ring in my bench vise and clamped it tight. I then bent it with a heavy hammer, bumping the bottom end towards the side with the holes for the guide pins. I would give it a couple of firm bumps, and then check to see how much it had closed, and did this a number of times until I was satisfied with the gap. Then I wore it for a few days to make sure it was comfortable and to see what happened. I popped out once, so when I got a chance I closed it down a bit more. I did it in increments and haven't had any problems. If you have smooth jaws on the vise it shouldn't mar the ring. If like me your vise doesn't you may have to sand and polish a couple of nicks out. A piece of sheet metal bent and hanging down to cover the jaws would protect the ring.

I am the considering the Bon4 cage as an alternative to the Mature Metal Jailbird that my husband has been wearing. I like the looks of the Jailbird, and that it is easy to keep clean, but I don't like that I cannot put the main ring on or off by myself, and he has to do it. I know some say to just remove the cage and leave the ring on when I want access, but I don't like the pin that sticks out. I've tried rotating the ring, but still don't like the pin. Also, sometimes I just want to take the entire cage off and play with him.

So, what I like about the Bon4 is that it is a metal cage, which looks good and can be kept clean. It also looks like the main ring has a hinge, so I would be able to put it on and take it off by myself. Does the hinge cause any problems, like pinching? Can it be covered with surgical tubing, or does this get yucky over time? Also, I see they offer two sizes, so is the length measured the same way as the Jailbird? When we ordered the Jailbird, we went with 4", but I don't know how the Bon4 is measured. We could go a little shorter and I'd like it to be a little less noticeable in blue jeans, so any recommendations?

just have wore it for a few hrs, looks like it can be kept clean and piss quite normal, the hinge needs cover at least for me ( i hadnt any problem with the hinged one oc cb3000) they provide a tape but i have put on the surgical tube (the one that a few chinese have). tehy provide two choises fo the length one is small: Internal cage length: 65mm (2.56″) nad the other one the normal one that i think u have to chose:Internal cage length: 85mm (3.35″)

My spouse dislikes that aspect of the MM devices, as well. One fix I looked at was taking one of the foam ear plugs you can purchase at any drug store or Walmart, and drill a small hole in it from the large flat end the same size or a tad smaller than the locking post on the MM base ring. Drill the hole a ways in the foam ear plug, but not all the way through. Then slide the flat end with the hole on the locking post and rotate the ring to one side or underneath the scrotum. With the plug on there, the post should not cause any discomfort to either of you during playtime. When playtime is over, rotate the base ring back to the normal position, remove the foam plug from the post, and re-install the cage. Done!

Thank you both for the information. I had my husband order the Bon4 small cage and I will see how it works out. It should be smaller than the JailBird, so it won't show as much under clothing. Hopefully we can work through any fit problems so that I can make him wear it as long as I want.
