The secret to great sex

Okay, I must confess that what I am about to say is neither a "secret" nor is it "great". I got your attention with the subject line, though, didn't I?

Anyway, while reading various posts on this site by some guys who say their wife or significant other is not very interested in sex, I thought I would share what works for me -- even though it may not seem like terrific advice, at least not at first. It may not work for everyone, but who knows, it might help someone.

At least once a week my wife and I have a movie night in bed with the door locked. Our kids are old enough that they can leave us alone when we want to be alone. We have a nice TV on the dresser, a DVD player and we have lots of romantic movies to choose from. We use DVDs we have purchased as well as movies from Netflix and Amazon which we access wirelessly with a Roku device.

Some of these romantic movies have predictable plots, as you might imagine, but my wife and I enjoy them anyway, and they tend to get her in the mood. Due to my locked status, I'm ready for action. On rare occasions the plot goes sour at the end, and my wife is annoyed or unhappy with the movie, and so my hopes for physical fulfillment get dashed and I stay locked, but most times we have fun after the movie ends, and I'm sure you understand what kind of fun I mean.

I'll skip the dissertation on how women are different from men in the way that their interest in sex builds, but anyway, the main point is that this particular routine works reliably for me and my wife.

Comments, anyone? I'm hoping I haven't annoyed anyone with this thread.

Sounds like a great idea. I will ask my wife if she would like to try a movie night. With me being locked and desperate, she will have free reign on picking the movie.

We have something similar , but we will pick a usually soft porn... and when " or during ", my Wife / KH will let me know it's time for me to stop watching, and get busy at the "Y".... she goes onto an explosive "O", and then it's up to her if I am released from my MM Pet Trap.
This has worked for us over the past 4 years, and always makes our time together special.

We don't have anything set up regularly but we know (and learned the hard way) how important it is to have some time set aside. You absolutely need to have time alone as adults to give a marriage what it needs to grow and flourish.

It's nice to hear that you're giving that to your relationship.
