Cage vs. Motorcycle

Post by AlphaSub »

Spring is fast approaching, and I can already feel the sun and wind on my face while my ears are pierced from a loud and rude exhaust note. This has been a long winter and I miss riding.

Sitting in my car with a cage is tricky enough. I'm seriously concerned about crushing my nuts on a long ride.
Anyone have a suggestion on a cage that would be compatable with a 6hr ride in the saddle?

Road cyclist here. Your question comes up as soon as the weather gets warmer, and unfortunately, there's no "one size fits all" answer. It depends upon the seat/saddle, your riding position, the type of cage/ring combination, and your specific body type.

For example, I used to be able to wear my CB3k on the more upright moutain-frame bike, but there's no way I can wear it on the roadie. OTOH, I've heard from people who do ride with a device.

Search around the forums; I'm sure you'll see a few discussions about what seems to work for some of us, and what doesn't.

I ride a Harley Electra Glide and go for hours without any issues but I totally agree with Tom about it depending on the type of seat, riding position, CD, ect.

I did have an issue once while wearing my CB6000s a few years back. While riding I felt something slip through. Turns out I needed to reduce my gap size. Never knew the gap size wearing plastic changed so much under pressure. Never had another problem after reducing the spacer. It's not an issue with metal. 3/8" is 3/8' all the time.

Be safe out there!

I'm riding a 79 KZ750 bobber. It isn't hard tailed, but my seat is pretty thin. Just a simple solo pan covered in leather with about 3/4 in foam rubber.
Hanging freely, I gotta get off the bike and give my back and ass a rest after about 70 miles.
The sportster tank only let's me go about 100 miles between fill ups.

I was thinking that perhaps a silicone device would be more conducive to riding.
I don't think my key holder would be down with silicone for 24/7 wear, she prefers the aesthetics of steel.
But, I do know she is open to a cage swap when I ride.
Which, would equate to a lot of cage changing since I ride daily. I could probably deal with the discomfort for my work commute (about 40 minutes each way).
But, I don't want to be distracted by my balls when I want to disappear down the highway for a few hours.

In all honesty, she would probably be open to giving me a few hours of release when I want to ride, but she has made it absolutely clear, in no uncertain terms that when I vanish for a weekend with my MC (motorcycle club in this instance), I WILL be caged during my adventures.

Would you consider trying one of the inexpensive DHGate metal cages for a test ride? For $30.00 it might be worth the investment short term before you drop hundreds on something else.

Currently in possession of two cheap Chinese cages with a third varient en route.
This is the last mass produced cage I'll buy. If it is a no go like the other two, I'll be dropping the cash for a custom rig. I've grown weary of having my balls and dick ripped to shreds by ill fitting rings and treacherous pinch points.
In all honesty, if I didn't love my kh as much as I do, my willingness to be caged would have vaporized with the first drop of blood.

I need to find a workable solution for riding while caged.
I won't give up riding, even if Christ himself descended from heaven and decreed motorcycles tools of the devil. My bike is my therapy. I won't give that up, not will I accept having that one thing outside of my relationship with my kh that gives my life pleasure turned into a tortuous exercise in endurance.

(Can you tell that this is a major source of concern for me?)

I hate it when someone on the forum refuses to express themselves and let us know how they really feel about something.

Like Tom Allen, I cycle a bit. I have a MM Jail Bird and I have almost zero problem cycling with it. Sometimes I have to adjust it a little when first getting on the bike, but that is all.

Went for a ride today. I was in my cage. Made it all of 50ft before the top of the hinged ring started pinching me mercilessly.
My key holder was at work 12 miles away.
I rode 12 miles with the top of my shaft being constantly pinched...HARD, and crushing my balls with every bump in the road.

This is not acceptable. I'll give up everything to make my KH happy, except for my bike. That just ain't happening.
