Steelheart, Foreskins, Custom designs

We're thinking of ordering a steelheart, but wanted to get some advice from the more experienced folks before placing an order. Before folks answer with a 'use the searchbox' reply - I did - and couldn't really find a great thread in which people shared their experience with this specific device.

My KH thinks the steelheart looks much sexier than the device I currently have (jailbird), but is concerned about keeping the device clean during extended periods of time (weeks without removal). If I was uncircumcised, we would just use Thumper's cleaning method - but with a foreskin, it seems unlikely to work that well. I'm not psyched about shoving q-tips up the device as well, since it doesn't seem like the approach would be that effective...

So, a few questions -

1) What's the best way to stay clean in a steelheart while sporting a foreskin? (and no, removing the foreskin isn't an option. ) How long have you gone without removing the device and remained clean? Is urination in a steelheart incredibly messy for guys with foreskins? What's your best tip for staying clean?

2) Has anyone ever asked Dietmar to modify the design slightly to add in slits (say a 1/4" wide) along the sides to enable just enough access for the wearer to pull back the skin? It seems like this might be an easy way to pull back the skin for cleaning, peeing, etc. Apart from increased access, can you think of any disadvantages here (e.g. pee leaking out the sides, etc?)

A bit of trouble for us guys with foreskin right? I have the same "problem" as you have since it is hard to keep clean without removing the device. I have an agreement with my KH that I can unlock myself only for the purpose of staying clean (once a day a will take a shower only to wash my KH property) and than I go immediately back in the cage. Yes she trusts me that I will not masturbate and I would never take advantage of this.

On the subject of your idea I think it would work to pull back the foreskin. The problem I am guessing will be pulling it back forward. My penis head gets irritated if I keep the foreskin back, so I think you will have the same problem?

Dietmar will do just about anything you desire As you can see from my avatar I asked him to do a cross between Braveheart and Steelheart 2 and he had no problem doing it. So your idea will be no problem at all. Just write to him and he will answer you (once a day from my experience)...

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping there might be a solution which would allow for longer term wear - but it makes complete sense that this might not be possible given a fully enclosed device. The on/off routine is a little bit of a drag. Keeping it low maintenance for my wife seems to be the key to longer-term wear.

As far as the design above, I was thinking it would be possible to pull the skin back by applying pressure through the slots. For pulling it back, pressing and holding while making a motion to 'pull out' of' the device might do the trick. There's usually a little wiggle room here. Experimenting with this in the jailbird seems to work reasonably well. This may work.

I'll see if Dietmar has any ideas as well. If I go with the design, I'll let people know how it turned out.

IMO, the worst thing about devices with slots like the Steelheart 2 is urinating. If you can't easily line up the meatus, as with the cb-6000 or some other open designs, it is just messy. That's why I went with the regular Steelheart, it only flows out that little hole…less mess.

This is an interesting comment. I have a CB Zero with large holes and find that this happens, but I thought the Steelheart 2's smaller slits would keep the spraying under control. Now I am second guessing my decision to get a Steelhart 2 over Steelhart 1. I like the thought of being able to see just a tiny bit of penis at the bottom though. Maybe urine control is more important than being able to see a frustrated cock inside.

Please view my avataar. I think the cage that I am using is the best option, that eliminates all problems, except passing through security gates. I don't have to remove my cage for cleaning. It has an excellent ventilation. I can pull out my foreskin for cleaning from the front opening of the cage.
