Members' Authenticity

Post by Linus »

Membership on this site is growing day by day, which is a good sign that more & more individuals are enjoying 'the real life under lock & key'.
My question is that how do we know that each member is 'really' living this lifestyle?
Someone might not be locked in cage or belt; and still become a member here.
I have a solution.
Each member should make his name tag (1 inch x 2-3 inches), attach it to his device & take photo in which the device is locked & his name is readable; and send it to the administrator.
These photos may not appear on the site for privacy reasons, but will remain with the administrators.
The administrator will then authenticate each member's membership.
This will enable terminate fictitious members & this wonderful site will become more genuine & serious.
If approved, I'll be the first one to send my photo.
Stay chaste. Make your wife & life happy. Forever.

There is no requirement that members always be 'living this lifestyle'. Some members may be curious but not [yet] committed, for others it may be an off and on thing. I am not currently locked (though Mrs. Twisted has the power to initiate it any time she wishes) but that does not mean that I have nothing to contribute.

Your 'solution' would likely strangle the site and participation.

Edited to add:

Linus, I'm not sure how much time you spend here, but this forum was started because of the disturbing lack of good information about this kink. A quick Google search - hell, even a long Google search - will turn up literally dozens of sites, forums, blogs, and other place3s that will tell you all about chastity devices - most of which will be wrong, if not downright dangerous.
My question is that how do we know that each member is 'really' living this lifestyle?
What the hell does that even mean?
The tagline "living the real life" isn't so much about wearing 24/7 as it is about learning how to deal with the physical inconveniences and the emotional roller-coaster that happens in your personal life and in your relationship. Many people here are just part-time dabblers, some members don't even use a device, and some of the members that do use a device aren't necessarily playing 24/7.

I don't mean to come down on you too harshly, but here's an example of the sheer boneheadedness of your suggestion:
This will enable terminate fictitious members & this wonderful site will become more genuine & serious.
Really? Just for some perspective: for various reasons that aren't any of your business, for most of the past year I have *not* been wearing a device. Are you voting me off the island now? Am I no longer a genuine and serious player?

The only sentence in your post that gets it right (although not for the reasons you think) is the first one:
Membership on this site is growing day by day, which is a good sign that more & more individuals are enjoying 'the real life under lock & key'.
It's great that more people are discovering this and enjoying it. In the couple of years that this site has been around has become one of the top places to learn about the *realities* of the kink, without all the BDSM, power-exchange, overly-romanticized crap that is so prevalent around the internet, and I'm quite proud that the regular members here are generally level-headed and helpful.

That said, I really can't even imagine why you would suggest such a thing. Care to elaborate on why you would even bring this up?

1)If you want to look at locked penes go to Twitter. ( #chastity )

2)A dick will be a dick whether he has a pic of a device or not. (What is 'genuine' chastity anyway?)

3)The fantasists stand out easily enough and are usually called out within hours of posting here.

Yea, I'm ok with how this site is being run without having members send in pics of their junk locked up.

Moderators do a pretty good job in weeding out the crap.

Sorry, but I don't think this was well thought out before it was posted.

This site is a great resource for those who want to learn about our particular kink before jumping in. Your proposal would lock all those potential members out.

Not a chance I'm looking at a picture of some guy before I approve a new post / member. Bad enough that we have to filter through so much spam just to get to a legitimate new post.

Are we to assume that this post was immediately followed by an email from Linus to the Board Administrator requesting to become a Moderator?
