A solid ring poses problems when the device is to be taken off during teasing. The solid ring will be at least uncomfortable (because of the fixed pin or lock receptacle) when your KH plans to use you for penetration. Maybe you should contemplate a fixed/non-fixed ring combo.

A solid ring is the way to go if you desire one for longer term wear and comfort. It take a while to learn how to get the genitals in and out of the solid ring but you will figure it out relatively quickly. Many times when my cage has been removed by my KH/Spouse for sex, I am too aroused to remove the base ring and had to leave it on. Usually it is not a problem, but makes for a less pleasurable orgasm if I am to be granted one.

OTOH, if the ring is still on, it takes me longer to reach climax, and the constriction lets the pressure build higher, so the ejaculation looks more spectacular and squirts out farther. This clearly pleases my wife, to see such proof of the quality of her "handiwork".

The base ring stud sticks out right where her clit is (during face to face intercourse)...so if I can't get the basering off she gets it doggy style...which she doesn't mind, since I have to finish her up orally anyway.
I'm not a gynecologist, but I'll take a very close look.
Re: Another request for people's experiences with Metal Cage
if i turn the ring around so that the pin is below my scrotum, it makes face-to-face possible. One has to be a little careful, of course.

Re: Another request for people's experiences with Metal Cage
I have tried all 3 of the rings from Steelworxx (with my Steelheart 2 and then Steelheart 1). The Hinged ring and the bipartite ring both cause irritation over time at the "joints". And, the bipartite ring is actually rather difficult to put on including having to use an alen wrench. So, I ended up just using it like a solid ring over time. Putting the solid rings on and off took some practice. But, now they are the only rings I wear because of comfort and security.
As others have mentioned, the solid ring is impossible to remove when hard. I took an idea from the bipartite ring and asked Steelworxx about making solid rings with a removable pin. They were extremely accommodating and made my rings with a removable pin. So, after removing the cage, I can also remove the pin and just leave the ring on with nothing to irritate my wife. The pins are created exactly for each application. So, they are just as tight with no more movement than the solid pins.

Good choice. I also originally got the practice rings from MM to help size. Just be aware, stainless steel is more comfortable and slides on easier than plastic. As you get used to wearing it, you will also find you are comfortable with smaller rings. I now wear 2 sizes smaller than I originally did. And, I actually use 2 different rings. a smaller one when it is hot and a larger one when it is cold.

I was thinking about this not long ago, thinking about the pins Tom made and wondering why the metal makers didn't offer removable pins. It doesn't seem to me that it would require much more machining to offer them along with metal spacers, a single pin could have multiple lock holes drilled into it and then gap adjustments could be made without requiring the device to be returned.gungadn wrote:As others have mentioned, the solid ring is impossible to remove when hard. Re: Another request for people's experiences with Metal Cage
IIRC, Mature Metal makes his cuff rings with 1/4" diameter stainless, which is also the size of the locking pins. In order to make a removable locking pin, he would have to weld a larger piece into the seam, say, 3/8" to 1/2", then drill a 1/4" hole through it to accommodate the pin. I happen to know at least one person who has a Jailbird done in this fashion, so I know it's possible, the question just becomes one of effort and (of course) cost.TwistedMister wrote: I was thinking about this not long ago, thinking about the pins Tom made and wondering why the metal makers didn't offer removable pins. Re: Another request for people's experiences with Metal Cage
The best way, would be something like a " Universal Clevis Pin" , which is cheap at most hardware places. Only thing is they are NOT stainless steel... they are Zinc plated Steel. Not too sure if the locks will fit thru it, but it's worth checking into.
I have the MM Pet Trap with a removable pin... but it was made 3 yrs ago, not sure if MM makes them anymore. I did have to have them also add guide pins so the device would not twist, due to the pin being able to spin. MY KH thinks it's a great idea, since we do not have to worry about injury.
Just my 2 Cents
