Apologies if this is a silly question, but I have just taken delivery of my CB-6000 to which I'm over the moon with. The only thing I find a bit of a let down is the plastic locking pins that are supplied with the device which are quite easy to cut and thus doesn't give me the feeling of being locked away and helpless as much as I hoped. Is there a suppiler where I can get stainless steel pins???
Many thanks in advance for your replies....

Yes... and no.Is there a suppiler where I can get stainless steel pins???
The reason that you don't see stainless steel locking pins is because the use of anything other than the nylon pins that you get with the devices will void the warranty. Please note that the plastic pins allow for a little bit of give when pulled or pushed in snug jeans, etc. Constant movement without the give *might* cause stress fractures in the flange of the cage, or (less likely) in the cuff ring. Online retailer that sell the CBxxxx series will not carry the stainless pins because if they sell you a device, and then a pin, and if you try to return the device because of a defect, then AL Enterprises will not warrant the returned cage, and will claim that the cage broke because you used the steel pins, whether it was true or not.
You might wonder why I happen to know all this.
A few years ago I made some stainless steel locking pins for myself, and a few other people asked about them. With the intention of setting up a web store or something (I had a friend in the community helping)
I ended up making a bunch of them in various sizes, and sent out a few to people as samples. They're really pretty to look at, highly polished, and I made up a set of stainless steel spacers to go along with them.
Here's a picture of what they look like:
The project never went anywhere because
a) Paypal had started cracking down on almost any products of an adult nature, and people in the business were finding their accounts seized or suspended, and my partner was hesitant about setting up the online payment, and
b) The CB6000 started outpacing the CB3000 in sales, and AL Enterprises made the locking pins for both models the same - which, naturally, made my pins not quite fit.
The pins I made are 1/4" diameter round, and the newer style is roughly 7mm x 5 mm oval. I modified my own CB6000 by carefully drilling a 1/4" hole through the cage section, but I didn't want to recommend that to everyone. I mean, someone who can use tools should be okay, but I'd hate to have a person buy a drill at the hardware store, try to ram it through the cage, and then crack it or something.
Anyway, we were kind of stuck; while it would have been possible to machine these pins to be compatible with the new style, it would have been made them ridiculously pricey. I tried selling them in bulk directly to device resellers, but because of the aforementioned reasons that didn't pan out.
So now I have about 100 sets of these pins sitting in a box in my office, and I'm not sure what to do with them.

Those are sweet.
Know anybody that makes Steel Cuff Rings for a CB-6000?

Besides me, you mean?
I guess I don't have a picture of the one that I made. You could try asking Mature Metal if they would do one.
The one that I made is actually machined from a solid piece of 316 stainless. I think I once figured how much it would cost to make up, say, 100 at a time, and it was probably in the $20 to $30 range. I think that MM could do something interesting, but he's using 1/4" round stock, so it might not be exactly the same thing as the plastic ring.

Oh, and the top one, with the lock through it? It has *two* holes - you know, for two locks. In case you have two keyholders.Atone wrote:Those are sweet.
It was just an interesting idea at the time.

Re: Steel Locking Pins For CB-6000
Very nice items Tom. I explored trying to find steel pins for my CB6000s last year. Came up empty. I can see now the potential problem of how under stress the plastic cage or ring would break with steel pins vs the plastic pins which would give a little. Spend a few days in a custom metal CD and you realize there is no "give".
Happily secured since 4/2010

Re: Steel Locking Pins For CB-6000
I should point out that I have stress/cracked the plastic on my devices without the steel pin, and I have modified a 3k to have less give. I also started using rubber O rings to take up a little of the movement, and that seems to have helped.
I'm one of the 19 people who actually bought a Fort a few years ago (a Chinese clone of the 3k in stainless steel), and once locked in, there is *no* give at all, and it's a different feeling entirely. It's also almost a pound of weight hanging off of me, so I only wear it on special occasions.
The steel pins are not inherently bad, but people who leave too much slack between the lock and the cage - or conversely, people who force the lock in against the spacers - have more of a tendency to crack something because of where the stress is placed.

Tom,
If you are looking for a low hassle way of selling the pins, you should check out the Fulfilled by Amazon service. You create a product profile, bag and label your inventory, ship all your pins to an Amazon warehouse and your product shows up listed on Amazon. Amazon processes the orders and does the shipping straight out of their warehouse. For a tiny item like the pins, the carrying costs for shelf space would be minimal. Obviously you have a pretty strong platform for marketing to the chastity community, so you could just sell direct to customers. Those stainless steel pins need good homes!

Re: Steel Locking Pins For CB-6000
Wow, today I learned something.
Thing is, the pins won't fit the newer style; both the newer CB3000 and the CB6000 (and probably the Curve, as well) take the oval style pins. So, I either have to figure out a way to make them fit, or, umm.... something.
