lo all... been awhile,
thought I would toss this out to those that seem to have a problem with the base ring of the MM device sliding down.
I ordered a new base ring from MM and had it made as a double ring vice a single ring. When I had first gotten a CB6Ks I liked how the base ring had felt more secure ans less likely to move. Although my base ring was slightly smaller than the one I had used with the CB6Ks the MM ring still wanted to slide down over the top of my shaft. I decided to try a double ring and am really please with the end result. I've been using it now for a couple months and finally feel the device is both secure and correct, the double ring has stopped any slippage and imho should be what is used instead of the single standard version.
Just thought I would throw this info out to any interested parties.

Jailbird Double base ring
Re: Jailbird Double base ring
Looks an interesting idea. But did not clearly understand the alteration. Will you please explain or if possible post photo in members lounge? It might help many jailbird users. Thanks

Re: Jailbird Double base ring
I have been thinking about trying the double base ring from MM for the same reasons. I got this picture from MM web site and from I understand it looks like this but with the post.
Current device - MM Custom
Previous devices - CB2000, 3000, 6000, 6000s, Curve
Previous devices - CB2000, 3000, 6000, 6000s, Curve
Re: Jailbird Double base ring
I am also curious about the double base ring. My concern was that the extra weight would offset the benefit of extra grip. Is it noticeably heavier?

Re: Jailbird Double base ring
My JB is back at MM for some additions and I too was considering the double ring. My CB6000s ring was always very comfortable to wear with a little lube. A concern about the double ring tho was hygine. For long term wear are you able to keep it clean under the two rings?Tutor wrote:lo all... been awhile,

Re: Jailbird Double base ring
Weights are approx. my device with a single ring is 124g (4.4oz) and with a double ring it's 159g (5.9oz) which isn't very noticeable when considering it is spread out over the surface of the skin. Keeping it clean is basically the same as a single ring, a touch more of a problem but nothing too different.
The picture that was posted is the double except for having a post, the only difficulty I have had is it is harder to slip into it grips that well.

Re: Jailbird Double base ring
We had MM give us a larger single Base ring ( 3/8th's ), on our Pet Trap , with a removable locking pin. On the cage side we had a comfort ring added and 2 guide pins. Simular to the "Jail House" device. This stopped any twisting and we did not have to worry about the hygene of 2 rings welded together. Since MM is all stainless there really should not be any problem keeping it clean, esp using a fairly strong hand held shower attachment.
The removable pin was our idea, so the A-Ring acts as a cock ring, no need to remove... and the pin does not cause any problems for me or my KH / Wife. It's extremely comfortable, and I have worn it for over 70+ days with just one release.
You can always call MM , or send them a drawing of what you want as we did.

I had thought of getting the screw post but didn't like how the security screw I had installed in one of my other rings kept getting loose after a couple days and didn't want the same thing happening to the post.

Re: Jailbird Double base ring
Tutor-
I have a jailbird on the way and was considering the double ring, as I envision the device slipping down the shaft a bit. My question is... are you finding that it is staying in place more because of the extra friction caused by the additional ring, or more by the now-wider ring being closer to your balls and thus unable to slide down further? If it's the latter, I'm a fairly low-hanging guy and don't think the wider ring would close the gap between the ring and my balls all that much. Thanks for the input!

Re: Jailbird Double base ring
My original ring was nice and secure but I purchased a 1/8" smaller base ring later thinking it would remedy the feeling I have of the base ring moving forward away from my body but it still seemed to slide down a bit with erections. It isn't loose, my rings are not too large... but I felt "something" just wasn't right with the base ring fit... like I stated in the first post, I liked how the cb6K base ring felt more secure; whether it was from the extra width of the ring or if possibly because the cb6k ring is flat on the inside thus having more surface tension. This last ring (the double ring), was sized in between my two rings (I sent both my base rings in and stated for MM to make it bigger than the small one and smaller than the big one), I actually think it's the same size as the larger of my two single rings though.
