I recently asked one of my locked boys about the issue of carrying an emergency key on his person at all times. I brought up the scenario that if he was in a car crash and the paramedics needed to get his stainless steel chastity cage off of his genitals in order to administer treatment. We discussed it for a while and I came up with the idea of placing the key inside a pill box that attached to a keychain. See photo below.
These aluminum canisters are designed to carry extra medication with you at all times, but I thought of using it as a container to store the emergency key to a chastity cage. I found one at Walmart for less than $3.00. I bought it thinking that it was a small investment for my experiment. The key for any standard luggage padlock will fit in this canister with no problem. I was thinking that the screw-on cap could be soldered closed, but upon some quick online research, I discovered that you cannot solder aluminum as the soldering wand gets too hot and will melt the aluminum. Some further online research brought up the idea of super glue. I put a few drops on the threads of the cap and screwed it shut. After the super glue had time to try/cure, I tried to unscrew the cap--no luck. I used a screwdriver in the key ring hole of the cap and a pair of vice grips around the barrel for leverage. It wouldn't budge. I then took the vice grips and locked them on the cap and hammered the shit out of the barrel. All it did was crush the barrel. Finally, I was able to drill a hole through the barrel. As you can see by the second photo, there is no quick and easy way into this container.
My final conclusion is that this is a very simple and cheap solution for the lockee to keep an emergency key on his person for true emergencies. Using my solution, there is no way into this container without evidence of tampering. The key will always be close by, but not easily accessible. The keyholder can demand physical inspection and/or regular photographic proof that the canister has not been tampered with. The only way into this thing is with a drill or a hack saw.
I just thought I'd share my findings for those of you looking for a cheap but effective solution to a common problem.

You need to somehow mark it uniquely so they can't just replace it with an identical one that they got from Walmart. Good idea though.

Re: Solution for Keeping Emergency Key on Person
Do you really expect an EMT to spend several minutes fussing with pliers to wrangle open a metal cannister? In 30 seconds, they will take the bolt cutters to the lock or the cuff ring.
And what if your partner needed the key, but had no access to tools? You want it to be both secure *and* accessible.
I think you might be safer looking for something that can be quickly broken open. There must be some clear plastic cases on the market that are small enough to go on a keyring.

Although, if personnel in the emergency room are going to have to get a drill or hacksaw out to open the canister to get at the key, then they'd probably just opt for bolt cutters to cut the lock off the device. I suspect the bolt cutters would be more readily accessible, too.
Interesting idea, though.

Re: Solution for Keeping Emergency Key on Person
We have an emergency key which is kept when he goes away in a small jewellery box that is superglued shut (the type you get earrings in).The seal would be visibly damaged if he had to open it - which would just require slight force. If I thought I was going to have to spend my time creatively out-witting him about keyholding, I imagine I would quickly grow bored and hand him the key back.
Keyholding- to my mind -is part of the symbolism of the game. If hub needs to pretend that I'm an evil prison warden locking him away against his wishes then cool, that's a fun game and I bet I can find dressing up clothes to match
but I'm not going to mess about welding boxes shut.

I made this in about 10 minutes out of a piece of copper pipe. If you spent even 20 minutes it could probably even look good. You probably wouldn't want to carry it in your pocket but it could be kept nearby.

I got the idea from someone else, I think it was on thumpers site but cannot remember for sure.
ETA: sorry about the crappy picture, it was actually to verify being locked up one time while my wife was away.

Some day I want to make one from stainless. The copper pipe was on hand, easy to cut with a pipe cutter and dremel tool and quick.thumper wrote: That what I have, though mine's stainless and from Germany.
I have a pill case similar to the one shown above that is made out of stainless. I might drill a hole through that to accept an auth tag, that would be a little more refined. Still wouldn't be from Germany though.

Combine the 2 ideas. Use the pill canister from Walmart, looks good, but cross drill it thru the thread area for a plastic security seal.
