I'd say the OP is sharing his experience and I am grateful to him for the input. You can't beat the real stuff.
As for Kink vs Life; I'd paraphrase Lennon and say that 'Life is what you do while you're waiting for Kink to happen'. I consider myself blessed every time Chatelaine shackles me.

I haven't been shackled for a while. This morning Chatelaine brought this up and began explaining that she considered that I was too tired from a heavy stint at work to be locked up. (Whilst I'm a happy drunk, I get really cranky when run down and am no fun to be around at all).
She feels that the lack of sleep and extra output around the house that are inevitable consequences of being shackled would end up being detrimental (turns out cranky and horny does nothing for her). She assures me that when I pick up she'll be ready.

Chatelaine said that it has helped her 'get it' in terms of what to do once the device is on. My part simply has to be not being so needy as to piss her off and being honest when she asks how I'm doing.
In a way your device is a bit like her pregnancy. I bet her thoughts are never far from it and she feels like you don't talk about it enough even if you mention it daily.
