We've tried a number of times. I tend to wear the cuff ring all the time (mine is not hinged), so she only needs to put the cage back on. Unfortunately, she can't seem to do it without pinching my skin. Normally, she supervises while I put it on, then she puts on the lock and checks it.

I have to put the device on but since we went to the Mature Metal Jail Bird with the screw lock she has to do the final lockup. It takes one hand to hold the base ring in place, one hand to turn the cage to get the holes lined up, one hand to hold the screw, and one hand to hold the screwdriver. The first time I put it on I did it by myself but it took over an hour with much cursing. The good news, depending on how you look at it, is that the Jail Bird is the most comfortable device I own and I can go for months in it, which I could not do the CB6000, so we don't have to do it very often.

My Wife/Kh usually just clicks the lock shut or if we are using the numbered plastic locks gives it a tug to make sure it really is locked!
