Hullo everyone -- posting here so as to prove that I'm a flesh and blood person, well as fleshy as you can get through the interwebs.

Anyway, short intro -- I'm Bequin, the female side of a Femdom relationship, which has been slowly building the past few years, and plan to move into male chastity by the end of the year -- hence my being here, so I can conduct more research. I found the forums through Thumper's blog, and hope to be able to do some more investigting.

We're looking into ordering a CB6000s from Kept For Her, along with the additional security bits, but then I happened to glance at Thumper's Portfolio and saw the "ouch" image which has made me just a bit worries... mainly because I don't want the cock to be harmed. So now we're thinking about going straight to steel... any thoughts boys?

I started with a CB6000 and looking back it was money well spent since it gave me a good idea of the sizing I'd need for a steel device, and it was a good way for my girlfriend and I to try things out.

It's not however in any way "secure" and I don't really think any trapped ball device can be without a piercing.

I'm still waiting to find out if steel was a good idea...

I saw that image too, doesn't give you the feel goods. The only time I had something like that happen is one time when using the "stocking method" to put on my CB3000 I got a little carried away and pulled a little too much through. I have to say I did panic for a second or two but then just pulled it back.

I really don't see how that could happen other then by being pulled through when soft. In order to get pushed through like that I think I would have to get hard enough first to do the pushing and that would make the head big enough / hard enough to not go through. This is not something that *I* would worry about when wearing the CBx000 but I would love to hear about any other experiences.

If I was going to worry about something with the CBx000 series it would be the cage splitting and grabbing hold of some sensitive skin. Luckily for me I didn't know about that possibility until after I had switched to a metal device.

As for going straight to steel, I think it is better to start with a plastic device. They have many more options for sizing the rings and spacers. It takes a while to get used to wearing something all the time and as you do it seems that most guys end up changing ring sizes a few times. You might even find that the cage of the "s" is too short and you can get just the cage of the regular model if you need to. I think the money spent on the CB series is well spent considering the expense and time of making changes to a metal device.

As for your key problem - I also have a steelheart with integrated lock and had a similar situation one time. I forget know whether it was one of the keys or one of the combinations of rings and devices (I have two rings and both a steelheart and locking cock ring) but some combination doesn't allow the lock to turn freely, I have to put pressure on the joint or push in on the key or something like that. The more I think about it the more I think it is one of the keys. I don't have access to either of the keys so unfortunately I cannot test it out for you. Maybe if my wife decides to let me out sometime. Based on her current comments that might not be for a long time and it doesn't sound like you want to wait that long.

If you cannot get either key to work I suspect that defeating the lock cylinder would probably not be that difficult. The one flaw that I see with the steelworxx integrated lock is that the mechanism is completely visible. That means it is also accessible to be defeated. The cylinder is brass which is fairly soft and the locking tab is also fairly thin. I think you could snap it off with a flat blade screwdriver. If it didn't snap flush you could then "file" off the protruding bit with just about any hard tool, I would probably start with a pair of small needle nose pliers. Once it was scraped down you could push the cylinder out with a small punch or nail. The only thing that would be damaged is the lock cylinder. A replacement should be about $20.

Thanks for your notes Atone, I agree the exposed lock does seem vulnerable. I was thinking I might need a Dremel or similar with a small disc to cut the catch off the end, I'm not sure I could get enough movement in the space available to file it down.

I initially thought it was an alignment problem but I'm sure now the key isn't depressing all the pins in the lock. I keep asking myself if I checked both keys, I just cant remember.

I've emailed Deitmar to see if he has any advice, assuming it's a lock problem and not a key problem.

I really hope it's not necessary to cut it though, the risk to the rest of the device and pain of having to actually do it aside, I don't think the experience of being locked up in the future would be the same after I'd proved to myself I could cut it off any time I liked. I mean I "know" (more or less) that I could, I just don't want to have to prove it to myself. Suspension of disbelief and all that.

I have to admit the inconvenience / risk is extremely stimulating, I'm not getting any work done today.

Yes! And the relief was tremendous.

Did the other key work the cylinder when it was out of the lock?

I think mine worked fine when the cylinder was out, it only bound a bit when it was all assembled together.

I don't think I would go to a locksmith for this. If normal hand tools didn't do the job I am positive a dremel would make short work of the brass cylinder without damaging the device or the person being locked up. You could buy the dremel if you didn't have one for less than it would cost to call the locksmith anyway.

The important question is, did she lock you back up?

Sorry should have been clearer. You were absolutely right, after she used her key to open it again the backup key now works just fine. So irritating, perhaps we didn't jiggle everything around enough when we were trying before, I don't know. At least it seems ok now.

Earlier I was referring to having a locksmith cut another key rather than the device, I'm not sure if it's a standardised key or not. I'd have to be really damn frustrated to let a stranger near my locked up cock with a power tool!
