Recently I have broken two rings on my CB6000, and I'm trying to figure out the cause. My CB6000 is a knockoff I purchased on eBay back when they were cheap, because I was just testing the waters, and because I was afraid the authentic ones were equally poorly made. After some sporadic wear to figure out the fit and cleaning techniques, I began wearing it in earnest a month or two ago. I quickly figured out that my girlfriend enjoys when I grind the cage into her, while we're clothed... So this became a habit. After a few weeks of this, one day when I was on top of her and pushing harder than normal, the base ring snapped, where the guide pins go through it.
I ordered an authentic replacement from KFH, and locked myself back up two days ago. The new ring wasn't a perfect fit, being thicker and slightly bigger around than the counterfeit, and the guide pins not sliding in as smoothly. Last night I did a little light grinding with my girlfriend, but pushing much lighter than i had previously. Tonight the new ring snapped while I was sitting at the computer, seemingly for no reason.
Should this just be expected when you go pushing on a cage like that? If so, it would seem like the dildo attachment would be just as prone to breaking the base ring. Or is this just a fluke? I hope so, because I really can't justify a custom metal device in the near future, but I don't want to keep dumping money into a flimsy plastic device either. Sillicon doesn't seem like a viable option for me.

Re: Durability of CB6000
First off, they no longer make the plastic dildo option. keptforher.com tried it, but it didn't sell well. Not only that, but you had to remove the device to attach it - kind of defeated the purpose.
My cage gets ground into various parts of my wife's body, and generally speaking, we expect a cuff ring to last about a year. But I'm using the solid style rings from the old CB2000, and more recently, the hinged 3000 style rings that have been glued into a solid ring.
The ears on the 6000 cuff ring are a weak point, and will not hold up under that kind of (ab)use. However, you could glue the top spacers to the ring and make your own solid ring (I've done this). It might last longer, but I don't sue that style, so I can't confirm this.
With some effort, you could convert your 6000 to use the older style solid rings.

Totally. When I stopped wearing mine, there were a ton of cracks on the tube's pin holes. I'm sure it was about ready to bust.Tom Allen wrote:The ears on the 6000 cuff ring are a weak point, and will not hold up under that kind of (ab)use.

I don't know how hard this would be but this is what I would do. Back when I was using the CB3000 I quickly discovered the joy of the solid rings, I found them to be much nicer.Tom Allen wrote:With some effort, you could convert your 6000 to use the older style solid rings.

Re: Durability of CB6000
I've started wearing the next smaller ring, since the largest was a tad loose anyway. The knockoff rings seem to be different sizes, because my 4th one is smaller than 1 7/8"; it is about 1.83", while 1 7/8" should be 1.875", right? At any rate, this smaller one is a little too tight, but I'm thinking if I wear it as just a cock ring for a while, maybe I will shrink to fit it.Tom Allen wrote:The ears on the 6000 cuff ring are a weak point, and will not hold up under that kind of (ab)use. Any pointers on this? I can't even find a good rundown of the differences in ring style. I guess the guide pins were on the cage in the older design, and the lock pin was oval? Would the holes on a CB6k cage line up with a solid ring??With some effort, you could convert your 6000 to use the older style solid rings.

We have been in our CB 6000 for almost four months. It did Split near the tip which created a ahhhh moment ,"get the Key". We have since super glued it and have had no further problems.

If you pruchased the device from KFH I think they cover breakage for a year. If they do, at least you could get the right sized ring back.
Current device - MM Custom
Previous devices - CB2000, 3000, 6000, 6000s, Curve

Re: Durability of CB6000
Right or wrong, I was never too concerned about breaking the base ring when I was wearing, but I was always worried about the cage (re)splitting. It did split once (while I was asleep in bed - got woke up to a terribly painful nocturnal erection). That was one of my stronger reasons for switching to the MM QK, which btw, is working out just fantastically for me. I need to post an updated review of it, but suffice to say, it's everything I need it to be. As of today, I've been wearing it for 10 days without taking it off (at all), and see no reason why I couldn't wear it much longer.
