Auto Drafts - never lose a post again
Re: Auto Drafts - never lose a post again
Son of a....I wish I’d read this. Just lost a long update because I navigated away from the window without even closing the damn iPad

Oh I see what you are saying @Naljeans -this doesn’t work in the quick editor when adding to something like your journey. It does work in the full editor for replies. I’ll amend the first post to point that out.
Re: Auto Drafts - never lose a post again
So I’ve just disabled quick replies, so that there’s no need to take an extra step.
Please weigh in on that change. Pro - can’t lose replies any more. Con - need to click “post reply” now every time.
Right now quick replies are off board-wise. We could also re-enable them on a forum by forum basis, I just don’t know that there is any one specific topic where losing a post doesn’t matter.

Re: Auto Drafts - never lose a post again
I often use the quick reply option. I don't think it needs to be auto-saved, because it should just be a quick/short reply- one or a few sentences and posted.

I use quick reply almost everytime I respond... Or at least a lot of times.

Re: Auto Drafts - never lose a post again
I have always used Quick Reply when posting, even when I know it might become lengthly.
I'm not adverse having to having to do it this way tho.

Yeah, I also use Quick Reply to what it is intended for - quick replies
and I don't feel like autosave is needed there.
Perhaps disabling it only in the Journal section would be best. I realize some people post long replies elsewhere too but I think the onus of choosing to do so via quick or normal reply is left on them.

Okay fair enough. Quick replies are coming back, I'll disable them in Journal, and just keep in mind that Full Editor is where you get auto-saves.

Re: Auto Drafts - never lose a post again
Here's the issue; Quick Reply doesn't allow the Autosave.
We need to decide which is more important. While some members might think "Oh, this post or reply is getting lengthy, I'd better go to Full Editor to make sure they're saved," my thinking is that most people won't do that.
Unless there's a way to make Full the default editor, and people would need to choose Quick in their preferences?
