Metal Devices
Metal Devices
I am thinking about getting a metal device, since the cb-3000 I had split, and was just wondering what people thought was the best value for money? Or even just your favorite metal device?
Re: Metal Devices
I tried lots of Chinese versions and found them heavy, prone to rust, and not comfortable for long term wear. My MCN Contender is light, stainless and custom made to fit me. It is near perfect.

Re: Metal Devices
What Namron said. I have a Mature Metal but have read as many good reviews on the Contender.
Many times the knock-offs are cheaper because they're plated. When the plating wears it starts to rust. Solid stainless steel, when considering cost, is the best way to go. These are usually good to find if you like chastity play and help with fitting. You've tried the CB so you've already done this.
To get a good fit you do need to get a custom device. Each company may have different ways to measure. Make sure you take the time to measure as the manufacturer recommends.

Re: Metal Devices
I'd go for the MCN Contender as well. I've bought a number of Chinese cages. Some can be ok, with smooth welds and such. The steel quality is immediately apparent. The Contender is 316 Stainless Steel and much of the Chinese devices are dull and lower quality materials.
I like the Contender because it's light. It doesn't draw down from its own weight like many cheaper ones. I used to wear a CB6K and was never as comfortable as when I am locked in stainless.

Re: Metal Devices
While I generally agree with the statements that a custom made device is the way to go for long term use, I have found that the five Chinese steel cages I've bought over the last two years have given me a fantastic understanding of what I want, what I don't, what is comfortable, and what is not. If you have the time and money to experiment, I suggest getting a couple of different styles so you can see if you like: open vs closed, short vs normal, rings vs bars, curved vs straight, etc.
In the end, I also got an MCN device, but the sock drawer full of Chinese steel helped me figure out what I ultimately wanted (and more importantly, what I didn't).

Re: Metal Devices
It really depends upon what you're buying. The A080 that I recently bought is definitely stainless, as is the A081. And I recently bought a similar style with an integrated lock, that I'm pretty sure will be 304 stainless because the website description said so.

Re: Metal Devices
Thank you all for the information. I after all the recommendations and my own research into the contender, I think it is the best option for me! However, I cant really afford the contender and a bunch of cheap test devices, to find the right size to order.
The NCM website also mentions getting some test rings both for base and cock sizes, however they don't say where to get them, so my question is where can I get them for a reasonable price?
