How many men in the U.S. are locked up in a chastity device?

I actually know a few people that have and own a chastity device. When I tell them I wear it full time they are like what!!! Most of them only have their man wear it for a few hours as they are teased. They don't wear it full time or even more then a day or two. So the sales might be high, but do these people actually wear for a great deal of time and get the real purpose out of them??

As to the numbers, I recall reading a few years ago that the owners of the CB#### company said they had sold over a million devices. I'm sure with the huge number of chinese knockoffs out there, that there are at least 2 or 3 million sold. I don't know if that's world wide or what, but we're still a drop in the bucket of the total population. Additionally, how many devices sit in a drawer and aren't worn? And... how many men own several devices?

My ex has a close friend who has owned and operated the only adult store in a hour radius in the South, the last time I asked her about it, she said she usually sells one or two chastity belts a week. Though she sells many more traditional toys like dildos, vibrators and after 50 shades of grey came out... butt plugs.

As to "making the mainstream" - the only show I remember seeing male chastity mentioned on was Californication.

I did also see a TV renactment show (Sex Sent Me to the ER on TLC) where the man had been in chastity, the woman lost the key and they decided to smash the device while he was locked in it so that he could get free after she returned from vacation. The couple don't get honest with the doctor about what happened for 90% of the episode, and in the end, they make it clear that chastity was crazy, stupid, and something never to do again. Although they seemed to de-emphasize the idea that smashing it with a hammer wasn't so stupid... annoying.
