Thank you very much. It confirms my suspicions, and I agree with what you say about the design possibly being confused. If it was a flat design (ring and top of cage) I'd be interested as it's not a hinged ring, and I want a small cage.
I'm back to something like this: http://www.dhgate.com/product/super-sma ... |426621501
I don't like the connection between the ring and the device as without modification it allows too much play, but apart from that it ticks the boxes for me.

Actually, I prefer this one, which looks much more secure. Any comments from people about the usefulness or otherwise of the retaining barbed ring and what size would be needed? The same as the inside diameter of the cage or bigger?

Looking at the gap with the barbed ring install it is almost non existent.
I don't believe that it's wearable... Even for short term.

Typically Chinese.. Either they screw up the manufacturing, material choise or even the design.

Depends how much play there is, I suppose, when it's all locked up. I expect there would be a greater angle with the ring. It would be OK without the extra bit anyway, but if it did actually fit properly what size extra ring is best to go for?

Think you should go for same diameter of the ring as inside diameter of the cage.
Perhaps sligthly larger - depending of how much pain you are into ;)

I think that - provided the gap size is ok for wearing - the barbs might become painfull with longterm wear even when blund, as they will out pressure on the same small portion all the time.

Will be interested in hearing your opinion if you go for it :)

Yes, I'd have thought it could be painful if the diameter inside the spikes was less than the diameter of the cage. How much it does to keep your cock in I have no idea!

Well, I've gone ahead and ordered a couple of small cages. Different lengths but the same ring fitment, so I got them with two different ring sizes to make sure. They've been shipped so I await them impatiently!

Got them yesterday. The smaller one is more comfortable although my cock gets pinched a bit, and I'm not quite sure why. It might just be rubbing against my pants. I'm not used to the open design after a CB6000S
