CB3000 with rust?!

Post by The1dude »

Hello everyone.

I have a CB3000 that I have showered with twice. On the ring hinge pins, it looks like it's rust. Is it a fake, I've bought?

The hinge on the plastic rings used to be a brass rivet that was chrome or nickel plated. They had an issue with the rivets being pressed too tightly and would cause the ring to break at the joint.

It's very unlikely that the rivet is rusting, but try touching a magnet to it. If it sticks, then you probably bought a counterfeit. Where did you get it?

If the magnet doesn't stick, it might be that the plating has scratched off and you're seeing the brass underneath, or possibly the copper underplate (copper acts like a primer coat). You could put a dab of clear nail polish over it.

The magnet is sticket to the hinge. I bought it from a Swedish adult web shop. :(

As it seems that my CB3000 is fake I have now ordered a custom made London Tower from Red Chili instead. The fake CB3000 will I save to when I travel.

I'm very exiting now. Does anybode now the delivery time from Red Chili?
