Using Plastic Sizing Rings

Post by knighterrant »

I would like to get a metal device based on all the feedback on this forum. I ordered MM's sizing ring kit, which seems like a great investment. I can get on the 1 7/8th A ring and it is comfortable enough. My issue is that I would like to wear it for a full three days to ensure comfort, but I always seem to pull through because of encountering colder temperatures with turtling effect given I am high and tight. My KH loves to keep the house a cool 68 degrees when we sleep, so escaping the cooler temps can be tough. Any advice from those with experience sizing? Should I find a way to wear the A ring or can I trust my experience with the sizing rings and my current CB3000 to order a Jailbird or Contender?

I would suggest you get the 1 7/8" and a 1 3/4". If you're that close now, the 1 7/8" is what you're probably going to need to start. As you wear it longer, and your body adjusts, you'll probably find the 1 3/4" will work.

If you decide later you want a smaller ring you will need to send the whole device back.
Current device - MM Custom
Previous devices - CB2000, 3000, 6000, 6000s, Curve

I agree with "Locked by LRC" suggestion of getting 2 rings when you get a device from MM.

I started with a CB6ks and when I ordered a JB from MM I measured the CB ring I was wearing. The 1&3/4" ring was slightly larger than the CB ring I was wearing and the 1&5/8" ring was smaller than the CB ring. I ordered both rings as the cost of the extra ring ($55.00US) was the same cost as the shipping costs would be if I had to send a ring back to be resized (international shipping).

When I got the device I put it on with the larger ring and was able to wear it 24/7 for three straight days. I then tried the smaller ring and had to take it off after only a couple of hours as my balls were turning purple.

Approximately 6 weeks later the larger ring was starting to feel loose and again I tried the smaller ring. I was able to wear the device with the smaller ring after a 2 week period of wearing the smaller ring for short periods of time and increasing the time. A year + later and I am currently wearing a 1&9/16" double ring.

Be aware that if you order the oval rings the ring will be 1/8" smaller vertical dimension and 1/8" larger in horizontal dimension. That 1/8" smaller vertical dimension might help prevent you from pulling through the ring. Start with the single rings and when you are comfortable with the size you can always add a second ring. (my current 1&9/16" double ring is my old 1&3/4" ring which was resized and the double ring added)

I do not know if they would be very accurate. Over the last two years I have used 3 different ring sizes. When I went with the Jailbird I wanted the oval ring but the oval ring is wider than taller so my normal ring size was too small and I had to get it adjusted up a size. The plastic rings will put you in the ball park and be accurate if you go with a round ring. However, oval rings are more comfortable in my opinion. The ring size was not as bad as a problem then was the gap. The gap in my other devices at 1/4" was fine but with the Jailbird it was too tight and I had to go with 1/2". Plastic devices have some give to them. They are not as rigid as Stainless Steel. The other thing is the design. The Jailbird pushes my penis well into my scrotum but the other devices let it go straighter out from my body. Just that along altered things.

The best you can do it get close and cross your fingers. The worse that can happen is that you send it back and forth for some minor and low cost adjustments to get it perfect as mine finally is. If you use the CB6000, the ring size you use with that is usually the same that you will use with a metal device.

That's a big concern for me too, the gap. I have found that wearing the CB that I can wear the 1 7/8" ring with the large spacer, but it's constantly uncomfortable. It is pretty unwearable. If I go to the 2" ring with any spacer even the smallest, I find that I will eventually pull through on the right nut. What I am currently wearing is the first truly comfortable combination that I do not pull through on, and that is the 2 1/8' ring with the CB6000s tube and no gap, wearing the spacer on the outside of the tube. Oddly enough that larger ring and no gap is by far the most wearable combination I have found. I might be wearing it a while, as I was roaming free on the honor system until last night when KH found out I masturbated yesterday and I now expect to be locked up for at least the next week. She is not at all happy with me.

I probably need to consider getting at least two rings when I order the device. I think the 1 7/8" and 2" rings are probably the way to go and I had been thinking the standard 3/8" gap would work but I'm uncertain.

I can't get my balls through a 1 3/4" inch round ring. It seems that to do so would be pretty painful, I have not even tried as the 1 7/8" round sizing ring is definitely the smallest I can get my balls through. Once it is on is seems comfortable and my instinct tells me with a metal device I could comfortably wear it long term, but I have a little hesitation because I really can wear that ring on the CB. However, the CB ring as thick as it is is uncomfortable on the bottom and I don't think I will have that problem with an MM device.

Is is possible to have two rings with two different gaps, or do the gaps have to be the same? I am uncertain if the gap is dictated by the ring alone, or the entire cage? If two rings and gaps were possible, I might order a 2" ring with a 3/8" gap and a 1 7/8" ring with 1/2" gap.

Honestly, it's a good deal of money, but that is not my concern so much as it is worth it to me. I think waiting the two months for the build and then finding you are sending the thing back and can't use it must be super frustrating. I am not at all fond of seeing the offer to rush the build for an extra $150-$275. Highway robbery… but I get the economics of it. That is what has had me look at the Contender, as the turn around time is a fraction of MM's, but I also feel like if I go that route I will regret settling for the "Chevy" when I really want the "Cadillac". Thanks for all the input.
