Hi everyone!
My wife and I just took the plunge into chastity about a month ago. We decided on the new Holy Trainer and it's been a great experience so far. I was wondering if it's fitted right, though. The ring hangs off my body a bit; it doesn't rest flush with my pelvis. Also, I sometimes find I "turtle up" a bit, so I have to adjust with a Q-Tip before I urinate or else I'd make a huge mess. I was wondering if those two things are relatively normal with the device or are they signs that I'm wearing a ring that's too large? I don't want to shell out another $50 for the next size down unless I really need to.
I'm not having any chafing issues, though I do occasionally use a little lube, particularly at night. I've been wearing it more often than not for the past two weeks, if that's relevant. Also, I'm definitely a "grower", so the turtling thing may just be par for the course.
I apologize if this has already been addressed on the board; I didn't find anything on the topic when I searched.
Thanks in advance!
Newbie here, question about HTv2 fitting
Re: Newbie here, question about HTv2 fitting
I would say that to "turtle up", as you describe it, is normal for most of us. A flaccid shaft can be somewhat of a moving target. If you can pull your device away from your body a significant degree, my guess is that you could do with a smaller ring size. $50 is really not much of an investment if it will mean a better fitting device. I don't want to even admit what I've spent in the chase for sizing perfection. It is very normal for most people to move down a ring size after wearing for a while.

Thanks, that's really helpful! I'd say it pulls away to a significant degree, so I suppose it's time to look into the smaller ring. I realize that it's not a lot of money relatively, but I was hoping to avoid buying another piece if I could. I think I'm going to try to stick with it for a little while longer, but it's probably an inevitable purchase at this point.
Re: Newbie here, question about HTv2 fitting
Wish I could address your particular CD but I can't. However, I will say that my own experience has shown different ring sizes can feel differently from changes in ambient temperature. My ring is much more comfortable in the warmer months than in cooler ones. Also, it is much more snug in the morning than the afternoon and evening. It's all about physiology, I guess.rch1ng wrote:Thanks, that's really helpful! I'd say it pulls away to a significant degree, so I suppose it's time to look into the smaller ring. Re: Newbie here, question about HTv2 fitting
I'm wearing a HTv2 and I'm fairly new as well. I ordered the 45mm ring and it was comfortable but I felt it could be better. Something was telling me to order the bigger 50mm ring quite contrary to what a lot of people say. The 45mm ring slipped a little but not bad, just required some readjustment. Since I've worn the 50mm ring (about 12 hours) it is more comfortable with placement but it is wider then across and I notice it more with normal tasks, walking and when lounging. I'm debating about ordering the smaller ring, but I feel like it may not be necessary as I feel comfortable in both the 45mm & 50mm.. I hope that helps.
Re: Newbie here, question about HTv2 fitting
That's good to know; I hadn't really thought about how the fit would change based on things like that. It might be worth getting the smaller ring just so I can switch between the two as needed. I'll probably bite the bullet in the near future. I appreciate all the feedback!wishful4 wrote:Wish I could address your particular CD but I can't. Thanks for the feedback--it's good to know that other people have similar issues and how they deal with them. I have the 45mm ring, too. It's definitely comfortable, but I have to adjust myself pretty frequently. I don't think the larger ring will work for me--pretty sure it would just hang further away from my body. Also, I really like how I don't notice the device much (aside from when I adjust); I wouldn't really like to notice it more when doing mundane things.ChasteM wrote:I'm wearing a HTv2 and I'm fairly new as well. Re: Newbie here, question about HTv2 fitting
Thanks all for the advice. We went ahead and ordered the smaller ring and it's definitely fitting better! I hadn't realized just how often I was adjusting myself until I switched rings. It's so much more comfortable now.
The only downside is that I'm noticing I get woken up by erections a bit more than I used to, but it hasn't been a major problem so far. I'm one of those lucky people who generally has no trouble getting back to sleep. Hopefully I'll get used to it in a few days, but if not, I think it's something I can live with.

Re: Newbie here, question about HTv2 fitting
Glad it worked out for you with the smaller ring. I did the same thing and eventually ended up with a 36mm ring (the smallest they offer) and if someone would have told me that was the size I would end up in I would have thought they were crazy.
Just food for thought, I have both a standard and small tube, and I've noticed that I will "turtle" more in the standard because at night I'll have a nocturnal erection and it will push the tube away, but when I go back to flacid size the penis will tend to retreat inside the tube due to it's increased inner diameter. I never experience that with the smaller tube, it tends to be directly attached to the penis at all times (on the inside diameter) so it's a much more snug fit, and more comfortable.

Re: Newbie here, question about HTv2 fitting
If you're bothered that it's not sitting as flush with your pelvis as you'd like and you're not experiencing any real discomfort in the device, especially while sleeping, I'd say go for it and order the next smallest ring size. If you've adapted to the current one and it's not causing you issues and get the next one and it also doesn't cause you any problems, you'll find the base ring smaller in the width department too which would be a more comfortable feel overall.
As for the turtle issue, I'm afraid that is what it is. I am in the same situation as you. I currently use a HTv2 small with a 45mm ring (originally started with a 50mm and moved down quickly to the 45mm) and have come to accept that sitting is far less messy when urinating than standing is. I can as you mentioned, align with a q-tip and stand, but it's a dice roll on whether or not that goes fine or ends in disaster.
