Two weeks ago, I thought the spouse and I would stick with the honor system, and I wouldn't experiment with a CD. I have had some pretty long stints on the honor system. Then, I spent half the weekend in an old CB-2000 I bought almost 10 years ago, but haven't used much since. When I bought the CB-2000, I was disappointed because of the ease of pulling out. "Security" seemed like a bigger issue to me back then, as my wife wasn't as invested in playing. That isn't as big of an issue to me now, because I figure I have the honor system as incentive to not attempt to pullout. Also, I was a little calmer playing together with her this time I around, and I "settled in" and found it easier to put on (especially the second day). I was able to wear it over night for two 12 hours stints with no problems, which was a surprise. That being said, the CB-2000 seems crude compared to the next line devices.
For anyone who knows, how much better is the CB-6000? From the pictures, it looks like some things were worked out.
The Watchful Mistress seems like the same concept, only in metal and a little more expensive. One drawback would be feeling like I was ordering the right size. The CB-6000 comes with more rings. I guess I could estimate based on the size of the CB-2000 ring I am using. What are the advantages of steel? I am not really worried about airports.
I don't want anything that will require a piercing.
Thoughts?
Plastic versus metal
Re: Plastic versus metal
From a woman's point of view, I much prefer my husband's Watchful Mistress over the CB-6000s for a number of reasons: I like the way the metal feels when I caress him; I like the look much better--he really looks like he's "caged" not wearing a plastic doohickey; and the metal always looks much cleaner to me. The CB, even right after cleaning always looked a little grody to me.
I would imagine you could use the rings and tube on the CB-2000 as a starting point for sizing a metal device. Mature Metal also has plastic sizing rings that you can order. I think the number one piece of advice that everyone here seems to share---and it was our experience, too---go shorter on length than you think. The tube on the 6000s is 2 1/2" inches; I ordered Ab a Jailbird that was 2" long and it was okay, but the Watchful Mistress at 1 3/4" is an even better fit.
Good luck!

Re: Plastic versus metal
Funny. My wife was definately game this weekend, but once said "that is quite a contraption" and later said "you can go put your thingy on". She was very pleased to hold the keys, but I'm not sure she likes looking at it. Thanks for the perspective.
Re: Plastic versus metal
I much prefer metal. When we first started playing, we were using the honor system. We were looking at devices, and at first had settled on plastic because of the price. We didn't want to invest to much into something that we weren't sure we were going to stick with. I kept coming back to the metal ones, because the plastic was so ugly! We went straight to metal, because what fun is it if the woman thinks it is ugly? Very glad we did. We have a Jailbird from MM, and will be ordering the Watchful Mistress a size smaller next month.
Good Luck in your decision.

Re: Plastic versus metal
Oddly, my wife prefers the plastic because she enjoys seeing me strain against the inside. I liek it because it's lighter weight, and it's easier to modify, which I do frequently.
That said, the metal devices are pretty cool looking, and there's just something about the *idea* of stainless steel that gets most of us all hot and bothered.
And *that* said, go visit Thumper's blog, where he describes his experiences (not all of them good) with the metal devices.

Re: Plastic versus metal
Funny you should ask. My Jailbird arrived YESTERDAY!
I used a CB6000 for a long time, and it's a good value item for getting sizing right, and for getting used to long-term wear.
But I simply HAD to move to metal.
And my wife's comments, as she screwed it shut?
"Now, we're getting serious."
Gulp!

Re: Plastic versus metal
I am in the same boat, I really want to change from a CB6000 which i have had for years now (and a CB3000 before that) to metal.
My main motivation is that my wife finds the CB6000 to be poxy, and I am inclined to agree its looking pretty icky these days....it split and i had to glue it with super glue then I used a cable tie to strap around its middle as a added precaution against pinching my bits if it split again, add some blutac to stop the lock from rattling...and I hate the lock....it really is icky. The thing I really like about the CB6000 is that with the KSD its pretty secure even without a piercing and the KSD holds everything nicely in place, and like Tom I have done a fair amount of modification to it to make it very comfy.
But what metal one? Although I am not adverse to piercing, my wife would not have it.
I like the jailbird because its open design but reading a lot of feedback, it is not all that comfortable longer term, and i don't see how it could be very secure.... the anti pull out devices well those spikes don't look all that practical, the KSD push down does not do any damage yet it holds things pretty well, I can't see those metal inserts being very comfy for very long, has anyone tried these?
I have considered the steelheart but it just looks too hard to keep clean, and too easy to escape from unless your pierced. The Steelheart II with the urethral insert is interesting....I wonder if the stealheart could be perforated with small holes on the side so one could flush it with water could be done
The looker is fascinating, I would love to try that one out but the long term viability of the urethral insert has me worried and its a awful lot of money for something that might not be tolerable, and after all my searching i can only find one person who has ever worn it for any length of time, he claims its fine but I think I would want to see a few more people happy with it before I went and laid down half a K on one.
I know that absolute security without a piercing is a farce, but its got to be at least a little discouraging to get out of. If one could tolerate urethral inserts it would solve a LOT of problems, but the first night wearing one of these would be scary to say the least

Re: Plastic versus metal
For long term wear I much prefer chastity just because of how lightweight it is. It seems much more viable to wear over long durations and makes for easy cleaning.

@wantshiny: I know three people here (my husband, Atone, likes2blocked) who have worn the Jailbird for extended periods without any problem. I think chastehusband has one too and has been quite happy with it.
My husband sold his, not because it was uncomfortable but because his Watchful Mistress was smaller and fit more snugly and he came to prefer it. I thought he'd switch back and forth between the two (variety) but he didn't, so we sold the JB.
Bill at Mature Metal is great to work with and will do what needs to be done to make your device fit right and be comfortable. As he wrote to me in an email, "The last thing I want is for one of my chastities to be sitting in a drawer and gathering dust." Just to let you know.
Oh, and welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here.

Re: Plastic versus metal
Curious these guys seem to be pretty new but offer a lot of urethral devices.
http://spicesforlove.com/index.php?main ... cPath=1_66
Found a fair few guys at the chastity mansion playing with the "looker 2" still too few for me to spend that much dosh, The Spices devices seem more reasonably priced but none of them have a integrated lock
and not really find anyone using them yet. not having a integrated lock is a show stopper (mature metal screw is OK I guess).
Trouble with shorter devices for me is at night when the pain starts if the device is short there is no where to go except to pull on your balls more....The CB6000 while its take a long long time to get used to still shits me at night. Judging by Steelworx description for the looker "pain" (which I am not really into much) I imagine the idea is that at night you get woken before your woody amounts to anything.
I have been wrestling with this decision for months all the while my 6K gets ickier by the day lol I am very temped by the jailbird, but I just think it will fall off me without a piercing, the ring i wear with the 6K is the middle size, I can't go any smaller, nights hurt too much, during the day its snug but could go one tighter.
