Choices

I've been out of sorts this week, but realized that I have been pressure on myself to change a whole host of habits at once this summer. The result has been that abstaining hasn't immediately pumped my drive as it usually does. But I am on day 4 right now, which is at least some progress.

The weekend is here and I am thinking about telling my wife that I want to take sex off the table this weekend. We are married with kids, so it isn't that unusual, but she has been in the mood a little more lately so this would be some sacrifice.

It is also a recognition that some control rests with me. Obviously, she doesn't have to have sex if she doesn't want to. But by taking it off the table right now, I think it might help the little part of me that is wonder when we will have sex be a little less crabby. I might also make it to the one week mark which I haven't done in some time.

I'm unclear here. You are banning sex regardless of whether your wife wants to or not or are you saying that you are saying to your wife that you are not going to bring the subject of sex up at all and when you have sex, it's on her say so?

It's more like I am trying to be a little more assertive about what is in our mutual interest, rather than role playing for the moment. Our drives are both getting a little better after prolonged life stresses, but our communication is not always 100% (we are rusty). Now on day five without an orgasm, I am feeling a little more spring, and we had some low pressure fun last night when we were both tired rather than feeling like sex would be too much. Damn her legs look cute this morning...
