I am getting ready to order from MM. I have the sizing rings on order. I have read various suggestions at different places and wonder if wearers of the Jail Bird or Watchful Mistress could answer some questions.
1. Padlock. The pictures all show the lock hanging to the side. Is this just for the pictures or is this the way it rests?
2. Plastic lock hole. Has anyone ordered this? If they have, does the lock lay flat or does it stick straight out? If I get the screw option I was told that I have to have a way to prove I hadn’t opened it. I work with cars and have the tools in my tool chest that would fit the screw head.
3. The screw option. Does this solve or help with the turning of the cage?
4. The base ring. Thumper had a thought on his blog about making this double wide for comfort. Has anyone tried this? Has anyone asked about a single wider base ring?
5. Oval base ring. Is the flat of the oval at the top, bottom, or your choice?
These are some that come mind now and would be thankful for any help.

Re: MM Questions
For Ab JB and WM, yes, it did/does hang to the side.1. Padlock. The pictures all show the lock hanging to the side. Is this just for the pictures or is this the way it rests?
Helps, but doesn't completely eliminate the turning. Face it, you are a living person with a living cock. Of course there will be shifting!3. The screw option. Does this solve or help with the turning of the cage?
I believe Atone has the plastic lock hole.

Re: MM Questions
I think the cage turning thing is more a product of how the cage and tube are connected than anything else. Also, the cage is very light. In a Steelheart, the tube is always oriented towards the ground thanks to gravity and the high connection point. In a JB, the cage sits almost in the middle of the ring and doesn't have any help from gravity to know which way up is.

Re: MM Questions
1 - Yes, the padlock will always hang to the side. It needs to be a tight fit because it aligns everything. On one of my cages it will lay flat, on the others it is more vertical. I didn't really find it to be a problem. I use the screw option now so the lock isn't there, sometimes I miss it because it made a nice handle that I could use to adjust (rotate) the entire device even when wearing jeans. It could occasionally cause a slight bump but I am pretty sure no one would ever notice even if they were looking specifically for it.
2 - I have the plastic lock hole on a couple of devices, not the one I wear the most though, that one was made before I new about it. The plastic lock will lay flat in is out of the way. I like the idea of accountability but really it hasn't been an issue. I wear the device to prevent erections, touching, stimulation, temptation. I am not "allowed" to take it off, that is all I need at this point.
3 - No, it doesn't seem to have any effect on the turning of the cage. As I mentioned in answer #1 the lock actually made it easier to rotate when needed. It is a little more difficult to get a hold of it through my pants to rotate with the screw. It is also harder to know which way it needs to rotate.
4 - I like the narrower steel ring over the wider plastic ring on the CB-3000. I think a wider metal ring might be nice in some ways but I don't have experience with one (yet, trying to work out some details on a steelworxx). I am sure he could make a double base ring. I suspect that he may not be able to make a wider single base ring, it would take a much more significant bender to make the rings out of 3/8" rod. I am only speculating on that though, you should ask him.
5 - The oval is wider than tall, but only by a little bit. Somewhere there is a post with a table of the measurements from a few of my rings. They are "mostly" round. Again, if you wanted it taller than wide I am sure he could do that, just ask him. That is the nice thing about custom (for the consumer at least) the device can be made to your specifications. MM was always very flexible when I asked him for odd ball changes or modifications. I suspect that it helped that I was also more than happy to pay him appropriately for what he did.
Other - I don't have one this way but I will probably send one of my cages back to get a ring with the post welded on top instead of straight out. Thumper has a blog about this and he nails the analysis. If you cannot find it say something and I am sure someone will help you find it.

Re: MM Questions
I read that blog Thumper wrote. I can see where the opening for the penis would be raised. I am trying to get some information for questions to ask MM. I am trying not to ask questions that might be answered here from real world experiences, plastic lock, movement, etc.Atone wrote:Other - I don't have one this way but I will probably send one of my cages back to get a ring with the post welded on top instead of straight out. I only have worn the CB series. With the three post there is no movement of the cage without the base ring moving. If I understand the comments, with the JB or WM, the ring stays in position but the cage tilts. This is a new feeling that I'm trying to understand ahead of time.Dev wrote:Helps, but doesn't completely eliminate the turning. Face it, you are a living person with a living cock. Just got my sizing rings in the mail. At least I know the cage is coming off this week-end

The whole thing rotates. There is no movement (rotation) between the base ring and the cage.Locked by LRC wrote:With the three post there is no movement of the cage without the base ring moving. If I understand the comments, with the JB or WM, the ring stays in position but the cage tilts.
One thing that helps is not using too much lube. I generally find that I don't like much. If I use lube I try to use just the minimum amount. I have been using baby powder lately but that was on my balls to prevent chafing.

Re: MM Questions
Thanks Atone. This helps a lot with one of my questions.
Like I said I was tring to imagine the base ring staying put and the cage start twisting.

Re: MM Questions
The importance of the proof of security is more for LRC than me. In a previous post I mentioned that LRC had insecurities about me being true to her because of prior experiences with others, not anything I have done. She is also a little older than me and I think this plays with her also. Since chastity, she says that for the first time she feels 100% secure.Atone wrote: I like the idea of accountability but really it hasn't been an issue.
