Cleaning, Hygiene, and the CB6000/6Ks
Cleaning, Hygiene, and the CB6000/6Ks
Although I'm not in this device any longer, we have had a couple of posts in the last week from users trying to wear the CB6000 for longer periods. To stay ahead on the cleaning and hygiene, I recommend purchasing some foam tipped swabs for showering. I still use this one: http://shop.swab-its.com/71-4500-p2.aspx. A bag of 50 swabs is around $12 and they are reusable. Regular cotton Q-Tips just won't cut it for cleaning, but are suitable for drying. This device is best cleaned twice a day using this foam swab and soap if you are trying to clean without removal. If your keyholder allows a supervised removal for cleaning, then this swab would not be needed. The best drying results were obtained with a hairdryer directed into the tube. After drying, I had good results by adding a small amount of Aveeno moisturizing lotion inside the tube to prevent the skin from sticking to the plastic. This lotion lasts a good long time, doesn't stain clothing, and does not promote bacterial growth such as does baby oil. If anyone has any additional tips, please add them.

Re: Cleaning, Hygiene, and the CB6000/6Ks
Thanks for the heads up. I've just been released after two weeks. The initial issue leading to release was a wayward testicle, which escaped and ended up moving upwards. Once the device was off (Bon 4 L) my penis was quite red, delicate to touch and also showing signs of friction. Part of the issue I found was due to my uncut penis. When initially locked up, the foreskin was pulled back. After a few days and some shrinkage due to the winter chill, the foreskin resumed its usual position.
When urinating and to prevent a fountain effect, I attempted to manipulate the foreskin so that the head was uncovered. This involved pulling on the skin at the base of the penis. This caused some pain and discomfort. It may have been that the ring was too loose and thus allowed the penis skin to move, I'm not sure, - it's still all brand new for us. As it is, the penis has remained somewhat sensitive to touch and also the skin appears stretched. There is also some unsightly flaking of the skin. I think this maybe a function of struggling to keep the penis as clean as it should have been. The foam swabs sound as though they'll help more, when I'm next locked up.
Needless to say, it's a learning curve and no doubt trial and error will produce better results.

Just wanted to say thanks for your suggestion about the Aveeno Lotion. I too used the baby oil gel for many months. Worked for a while but was messy and really didn't solve my problem long term. I have since started using the Aveeno product and have found it to be wonderful. I use it daily on the inside of my base ring where I was experiencing soreness long term. None of that greesy feeling I had with the baby oil gel. Wife/KH loves it too.wishful4 wrote:After drying, I had good results by adding a small amount of Aveeno moisturizing lotion inside the tube to prevent the skin from sticking to the plastic.
