Not so much what she said, but what she did. Yesterday she was looking for some stickers to cover up the logo on a fancy water bottle that she got from a previous job (from which she was let go with no explanation while being told that she hadn't done anything wrong).

I was watching football and on a laptop looking for a new smoker, while she was browsing on her laptop, watching the game and watching a soap opera on her phone. She came across a sticker that says "It isn't cheating if my husband is watching". Now, since I wasn't paying any attention to what she was looking at, she could have just scrolled on by...but she didn't- she nudged me and pointed it out to me, with a big smile on her face.

Her head might be getting to a better place, and I could be in trouble...


(Looking for a new smoker- I have been using a cheap-ass piece of shit Char-Griller smoker for a few years now. It says 'Professional' on it, but it is anything but- the metal is very thin, and the fit is extremely poor. It leaks smoke everyfriggingwhere and it is very difficult to control the temperature, basically an exercise in frustration when doing things that need a long cook, like briskets, or the ribs I did yesterday.

Well, the charcoal pan has finally burned through, so I now have an excuse to get something better. I want something good, with at least 1/4" steel and well-fitted...but I can't seem to find anything decent for less than about $1700. I don't really want to spend that much, but I also don't want to spend $800-900 on a shitty OK Joe that is also going to be a piece of crap. OKJ was decent when they started, but not anymore.

I want an off-set Texas-style stick-burner at a reasonable price. Suggestions? Anybody know of something I haven't found yet?)

I’m no smoker pro but I will interject some thoughts. For starters I can testify that anything metal has gone through the roof in recent years. No big secret I know. Second 1/4 inch sounds pretty heavy as for moving it. Is 3/16 acceptable? It’s 25% lighter and more popular to find raw material. Which leads me to my final point. Items like this I prefer to build myself if possible. Or utilize someone I know to assist me. Not sure of your situation but $1700 sounds pretty extreme. Like I said I’m not a smoker guy. Just giving some thoughts on the topic.
