Hi all,
We have the Jail Bird. We use the small padlock with an extra "tagging" hole. She loves it! We also have drilled a hole thru one of the spikes so a tag can be placed thru the spikes and around the cage. She has total control of how long all will stay in place and knows if any tampering has occurred. It's all about accountability and her peace of mind.

I have been off line for a few days so missed this.

I have a Queens Keep with the "higher" security screw. I work in the engineering business and don't know where I could get a replacement driver for this (the standard torx used on the lower security option is available at most engineering stores)

The screw has the advantage of holding the device very solid (there is a bit of play with a lock) and I have not found it at all difficult to insert - no harder than the lock. The extra hole on the longer locking post allows you to use either a second small lock or the plastic ones or.....

As far as the Queen's Keep is concerned, it is the most comfortable device I've used. Definitely recommend it as long as you are OK with not having to remove it for hygiene for long periods, i.e. there is not really a limit to how long your KH can let you stay 1 3/4 inches long if she is feeling very playful for a few weeks.

My understanding is that the high-security screws are individually made as are the drivers (so not interchangeable or available elsewhere) but MM will hopefully confirm. And the plastic tag as an extra is perfect for providing evidence of long-term wear. But I've not used the device myself.

Since it's been about a year or so since we got Ab's Watchful Mistress with the screw I'm a little fuzzy on details but I will try to be accurate...

As I recall, we were one of the first couples to "discover" the screw vs. lock option. I don't know if we have the "higher" security screw or not. I think we do. However, this summer he bought himself a new screw (with a thumb nut) at the hardware store so now he doesn't even need to use the little screwdriver that came with the device.

I realize we have a bit of a different setup than many couples. We've had a longstanding agreement that he can take his device off daily for bathing and his nap. He knows no touching and no orgasms during that free time. Given that, he's always had access to the key or screwdriver. Now he can just put it on or off easily. But I trust him to not be orgasaming (and I know he isn't). I realize this wouldn't work for many couples.

That said, I much prefer the streamlined look of the screw vs. a lock on a MM device.

My latest device is a jailbird with the MM Security Screw and I like it, We don't have any trust issues so I carry the screwdriver on my keychain. I like it because it doesn't clank when I walk like the lock did. Anyone I work with would probably not noticed or thought it was just my keys in my pocket but I could hear it and it bothered me.

Ive now discovered they are not. Same key fits all security screws on all belts. Key-Rex do individual security screws for vanilla use but apparently won't deal with MM because of what they sell.

Pity. These could be perfect

I have had a JB w/o the security screw for a couple of years. I recently bought a WM with the security screw. I liked it so much better than the locking option that I sent my JB back to be threaded for the screw. I greatly prefer the more sleek profile and how solidly the screw holds the device together.

I did some digging a while back to find a security screw to use on my stainless devices. The ones from Bryce fasteners would be secure, but if the were to sell them to the general public (which they don't) would be cost prohibitive.

Most if not all of the readily available ones that I found are Torx with a pin in the middle. They keep the casual vandal or thief at bay because they aren't likely to have the bit with them, nor would they go to the effort to buy one. I found the bits at Home Depot, Lowes and Harbor Freight. The screws are available on eBay in stainless steel. Like anything else in this game, the real security is between the ears. I just gave my wife any of the bits that I have that would fit.

Modifying the pin on the ring to use a security screw is simple. Drill out the hole to take the appropriate size screw with a cobalt drill, and thread with a good tap. Cobalt is needed because the stainless used is pretty tough stuff. I suspect 316 stainless. I did mine to use a 10-32 screw, but 8-32 might be better.

I have the security screws and they work themselves loose after a few days. They also protrude out of the opposite side of the screw head so that you can unscrew it with a pair of pliers. I would not pay extra for it again. The lock works well and holds securely in place.

Interesting. Mine has never worked loose and only protrudes a tiny bit, certainly not enough to grab with pliers. The screw is 3/8" long. Did you buy yours a long time ago?

Before I bought my WM with the security screw --- just this past May --- I corresponded with M MM on the subject via email. She said that they have had issues with it, but they thought that they are now resolved. So I took a chance. So far, so good.

If you email her about your problem, she may be able to send a replacement screw.
