You’re lucky. If I’ve been out for more than a couple of days, my dumb brain takes 3-4 weeks to figure out what’s going on.

Recently morning wood has been at its worst. As my sleeping is improving so are nocturnal erections. I have lost track of when my last fulfilling orgasm was and I am on trt. For nearly two weeks now I have been waking to wood somewhere between midnight and 1am and then again by 4 am.

My dr, tells me that testosterone is at its highest before 10 am. It starts to fall off after that.

I’m not sure how anyone can avoid morning wood. To me it’s as uncontrollable as those early puberty erections you get in the 5th grade just because.

So speaking as a KH, I prefer the bigger cage because it's easier to feel when Xavier is having a thwarted erection (when I finger his caged cock, I mean, and feel the bulging shaft behind the ring). Also, room to grow definitely gets him more horny and more frustrated, and that's the way I want him, randy as hell, aching for me
He also suffers scrotum burn and has to get up two or three times at night to rub cold cream under the base ring. It's part of the deal. I mostly sleep through his toilet trips; when I half wake up it makes me happy that he's "suffering" a little for me. After all, every time he deals with cock discomfort is a reminder that he belongs to me, that he's mine to use and abuse.
The best sex happens on the other side of his comfort zone.

I agree with you that a bigger cage has its advantages. Firstly as you say, you can see and feel when he's straining away in there.
The bigger cage also frustrates him more and like you, I enjoy that.
For us, the "big cage" isn't really very big. It's 3.8cm long, and that's shorter than his relaxed penis so he's already a bit squished in there before he starts to grow.
I think the diameter is important too. Herbi's "big" cage is just right I think.
It touches all the way around (which means he feels it) and gets nice and tight as he swells.
Everything's better with a locked male. Better still with a nude, locked male.

I would agree with this. It's unavoidable and uncontrollable.

However, I wouldn't say that it needs to be painful as it's worded in the title of the thread.

For me, nearly 14 months into this weird new lifestyle, I still wake up hard every morning so I am not expecting it to go away.
One thing that I do find though, is the amount of comfort or discomfort depends upon the size I'm wearing. The 3.8cm steel one is impossible to ignore and quite intense. Madly frustrating and mildly uncomfortable, but still not painful.

The smaller ones don't allow any growing room at all and are not at all uncomfortable. I also find them less annoyingly frustrating.

There are so many variables so it's difficult to pick a favourite, least favourite, or most uncomfortable, etc.

For some reason the previous kh conversation gave me a slight glimpse as to what it’s like for Herbi when two kh’s are in th e same room having a casual discussion about Herbi’s situation as if he’s not even in there.🤣

I agree, my largest is 4.5cms and thats the most difficult to manage the morning wood in, exactly in the way the two KHs mention above . However most of this year I've been put in the flat, (which is actually 0.4cms) and although it can wake me its never a problem. Tbh i quite enjoy the sensations :P

It really depends on the cage and its fit. I am of exactly average length but uncommon girth - off the shelf stuff is not an option at all.

I've tried two cages so far that are comfortable with strong erections. Both do not go the "less is more" route. You have options: The shorter cages that try to stuff the erection back into the body, or custom-fitted larger cages that accommodate an erection.

The Blackoutdevices Evo, foreskin edition, is printed plastic. I have nothing bad to say about it. It doesn't integrate a piercing into it, but has enough room to wear a PA barbell.

The Steelwerks creature is titanium. It gives me plenty of room to grow, and does integrate a PA barbell into it.

smaller cage is the answer.
i had extremely sharp pain with a long cage, because room to expand will let your body really pull the cage up against the back of the scrotum.
a short cage prevents that from really getting going, and pain is reduced.

Generally I agree with the "smaller is better" idea and your reasons are sound.
However, my kh currently prefers a 38mm cage that allows a little growth, width-wise if not length-wise, so that I get to feel more. A properly sized ring, that I seem to have, prevents any pulling forwards so I don't get pain with this either. That said, I am now in the Cobra Nub and that has to be the most comfortable of all.
