There are no rules about how you should define your experience. So, if you want to know if it counts as a release or not, I'd suggest you ask your keyholder.

FWIW, almost all who have experienced say it doesn't count. But there are some that do.

Like you, I've never experienced a nocturnal emission in my life. Not in lockup, not out of lockup. So it might be something you don't ever have to worry about

I wouldn't count it. one thing, you generally don't feel them, two, you have no control over having one or not. There's nothing you can do about it if you have one.

I suppose that all depends on how enjoyable it is. The one I had was when I was younger, and not in a cage (I had fallen asleep at work, in an office I shared with several other people, with my feet up on the desk...I dreamed I was getting it on with a chick from my other job and she somehow bent herself double and was licking my balls while I was screwing her...I woke up during my orgasm, what a surprise...and had to finish my shift with my skivvies full of goo).

Considering how 'tight' my nocturnal erections are while caged, I'm not sure that it would be completely enjoyable if it were to happen.

Seriously, there aren't any rules. If you're looking to follow some kind of guideline as to what counts, you're completely on your own. This isn't good or bad, it's just a factor of what you enjoy kinking on. Some people really enjoy the rules and structures, so they make up contracts, or set schedules. Other people enjoy a more free-form play.

While I didn't have wet dreams, Mrs. Edge would sometimes force me to come while I was still in the cage. Sometimes she would count them as orgasms, and sometimes not. When she counted them, it was usually with a tease that she didn't feel compelled to let me out of the cage for longer and longer periods.

It's something that you'll have to work out between yourselves, and even after you do, be open to changing the rules as you go along.

I think that the rule book states that it counts as an orgasm. The European rules may be different.
