I would advise against using baby oil. It provides the perfect medium for the growth of bacteria which causes the odors you are trying to prevent. My experience found that a good quality moisturizing lotion such as Aveeno works very well and will last most of the day. I also used it inside the cage for comfort. Baby oil will also stain clothing or anything else it touches. Best of luck!

Agree!
I started out with baby oil and aside from being messy it did attract odor and bacteria. Switched to Aveeno Lotion about a year ago. It's been great plus good for the skin too.
