Although I like the security screw for everyday wear, I do like the concept of the padlock for the weekends, playtime, etc., from both symbolic and aesthetic perspectives. What I've found with my MM devices though, is that the padlock allows for some side-to-side movement between the cage and the base ring. This movement will allow the cage-to-ring gap to get big enough to allow one or both of my boys to pop through, and the device falls off. The only way around that would be to have the alignment pins which are likely very difficult (at best) to install.
