Thank you tradinator. This is all I was trying to do, have a discussion about asexuality, but from the source.

The problem/confusion I am having is the wording from three sources. AVEN seems to be the largest organization for an asexual. They said basically what you did. Wikipedia was saying that Asexuality was distinct from chastity. I was just asking how one went with the other. I thought a person that had done this would be the right person to ask. I sure wouldn’t ask a vanilla male what it feels like to be caged. I would ask someone who has been caged.

At the first part of his reply Paulie67 did some explaining as to why he started chastity. I found this interesting. When he got pissy at the end I had no desire to respond.

Isn’t that what we do on this forum? We ask someone who has experienced something and then read their reasons why they do something. If you disagree with someone you state that and give your reason why. I don’t think on every subject there is always 100% agreement. I think a person has to realize that when they make a statement that everyone will not automatically accept it and ask no questions.

Wikipedia doesn't mention chastity in the context of asexuality, it says it's distinct from celibacy and abstinence from sex. Celibacy and chastity are not the same thing, and chastity in the context of this forum is more closely related to the BDSM sense of the word (erotic sexual denial and charity belts) than abstinence.

Paulie has gone into quite a bit of detail about his chastity journal and asexuality elsewhere on this forum so you should be able to pick up the relationship between the two by reading through his posts.

Back on topic.

The only people that know about my chastity practice are those I have, or have had, a sexual relationship with. I don't need to know the details of other peoples intimate sexual preferences or practices, and I don't need to tell them mine. That said, the reason I am on this forum is so I can understand my sexuality and learn from others who have a common interest/habit/compulsion.

I would think one could easily engage in sexual activity, such as masturbation and the wish to curb that with chastity, and identity as asexual by this definition. All it would take is the lack of sexual attraction to others.
Strictly (rather than broadly) speaking, asexual is the prefix 'A', meaning 'not' and 'sexual'. Not sexual is not sexual and masturbation is a sexual activity. To my way of thinking, one who becomes aroused and engages in masturbation is not truly 'asexual', masturbation is a sexual activity. Even if one is not attracted to or aroused by others, but becomes aroused (by one's own self?) and engages in masturbation then that person is engaging in sexual activity and is therefor *not* asexual. Perhaps there is a more accurate term for this.

If the definition of 'asexual' is allowed to become perverted to *include* a particular sexual activity, then accurate communication is disrupted. It is impossible to communicate clearly if people morph the definitions of words to include meanings that are different from the way other people define those words.

So therein lies the issue: asexuality is not strictly defined by its Latin roots as a word and the biomechanics of arousal and orgasm, it's broadly defined and includes ones feelings about the self and other people. Messy? Yes. Perverted? Not at all, that's the English language and psychology for you.

A *truly* asexual person simply wouldn't care
Would a *truly* chaste man need hardware? ;) I tuck. Fabric instead of hardware. I kink on that. Least I understand that kink. I Don't know any other members here who tuck. We have guys on the honour system. But we're the minority. It's a broad tent for a small crowd.

That is pretty cool and I don't even know what it means. It just sounds cool. Do you mind explaining how this works?

Please excuse my ignorance but is this a cross dressing / feminization thing? The only time I have heard of this that was the context.

In my case I have two friends that agreed to control the keys as I'm single for now. One is local to me and we see each other once a week or so and the other is a friends wife at the clothing optional resort I frequent.

There is, it is autosexual. Paulie is an autosexual who wishes to remain and self-identify as asexual, hence he wears a chastity device. Whether this is truly asexuality depends on your definition of the word asexual as without sex, without sexual behavior, without sexual genitalia, or without sexual desire. All four definitions are somewhat valid and all quite different.
