The Steelworxx website says the the gap between ring and cage on the bottom is 15mm and given that I have a history of one ball popping out of my CB-6000 except for with the smallest spacer (1/4"), I am concerned that the gap may be too big, especially with the added weight of the Steelheart. This is especially worrisome given that the horizontal distance and the actual distance between the edge of the cage and the edge of the ring would, I assume, be larger given that the diameter of the a-ring is larger than the diameter of the cage. Has anyone else had pop-out problems with the steelheart?

Dietmar has said that the gap can be made smaller, but I'm not sure how much smaller I should go to best simulate the CB-6000's gap. Any advice?
I have had an occasional ball escape with my Steelheart. I have the standard 15mm gap. For comparison, my tube is 35mm wide and the A-ring is 42mm.

With my next Steelworxx device (Looker 3) I dropped to a 10mm gap and narrower tube (30 or 32mm if I recall). I believe with the narrower tube it was even more important to go with a smaller gap to help eliminate the ball pop-outs. I've had no escapes with the Looker.

Just for clarification, the 15mm gap that Steelworxx has as a default is a perfect horizontal measurement from cage to the a-ring, right? That means it is *not* a diagonal measurement from the bottom inner edge of the cage to the bottom inner edge of the a-ring (assuming the a-ring has a larger diameter). So in practical terms, the gap is actually signifiacntly larger than 15mm--or am I confused?

I too am looking at Steelheart, though not as worried about the bottom gap as everyone seems to be.

If the tube were parallel to the a-ring (which it appears to be at slight angle so may be a fraction larger): c^2 = a^2 + b^2 so
Sqrt( 15^2 + ("A-ring dia" - "tube dia.")^2)

Using danj's numbers:
Sqrt(15^2 + (42-37)^2) = 15.8mm

So no the diagonal is not significantly larger, only slightly.

I read it again, the 15mm is from the bottom of tube so no need to worry about parallel or the angle of the tube opening the formula would be the exact distance of the angle from bottom of tube to ring.
